As millions of Americans face extreme heat, Black, Hispanic, and Indigenous people may be at higher risk of heat-related illnesses and death due to the underlying systemic inequities.

  1. "Low-Income communities of color may have difficulty accessing cooling centers as energy bills are increasing."

WHAT? WTF? Those two things have nothing to do with each other. Why are they jammed together into one nonsense statement??

I agree with the comment from TRAI FORSE about the lack of a simple explanation/translation — " Poor people tend to have less ACs"

Some places, like New York State, offer up to 800 dollars to purchase and install fans or air conditioners for those that qualify. Why not mention that? Then, talk about how even paying the electric bill to run those AC units is problematic for low-income or POC.

  2. Media- it’s always worse for minorities.America is just so unfair

  3. this is gross ignorance 🙁 there was more info on poor/wealth….. stop stirring the pot…. we all know whats in it and your the ones filling it!!!

  4. Me, a po ass white boy livin in a ACless apartment with a cheap ass fan from the dollar store, man guess I'm living life to the fullest out here.

  5. Well, it's comforting to know that their are zero "poor white people" who have to deal with that pesky racist sun of ours. I mean, "london bridges burning down, burning down, ..them and Ukraine" . in 'merica der ain't no po white foek!"

  6. Heat waves are racist for making Ghettos hot on the POCs I guess.
Oh well, what a sad life perspective thinking than even climate change is racist.

  7. How damned stupid do they think we are? Reminds me of an old NYTimes headline… "World to be destroyed by meteor tomorrow. Women and people of color will be most affected!"

  8. Hahahah I'm of color and i have a.c I don't think I'll die these year. Also I don't live in a urban city area. Who knew having extra melanin pigmentation in summer will kill me faster than my white neighbor…
    Thanx for the stereotypes though.

  9. dang racists yellow sun DAMN THEE!…….amazing all those thousands of years to darken the skin pigmentation and now it's unsafe for them……..been around quite some time and don't recall ever seeing one sunburned.

  10. Despite the economic downturn,I'm so happy☺️. I have been earning $ 60,200 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days.

  11. I'm going to say this for the people of New Yorkers the Bronx queens and Brooklyn have the most of neighborhoods housing apartment especially that trees but very sad that is not a housing is not neighborhood you're living a skyscraper huge window and you don't have a backyard you don't have it on your you're not living over regular apartment or even like how is it like a first floor second floor third floor 4th floor or even 5th floor well tell you what sometimes that I what I'm saying this for telling you the truth is the truth but only that the people are lucky that I live in those areas they could sit down take a stairs go outside not wasting your money anyway and especially that to everyone let me tell you this did I tell you already that it is time that cut the power cord and it's time to get a free energy that you don't have to pay your electricity bill forever especially that when you going to move maybe that someone could give you a daughter of a free energy right there and transfer that where the company to another company of the states and you will get happier anyway that's the truth anyway everyone because I wanted to say this it could be very possible you know

And you know what everyone let me say this again the Bronx is 100% lucky Queens is 100% lucky Brooklyn that I already know this so many of neighborhoods and housing and apartment including a lot of trees on it that would be much better but for many of you that New Yorkers that I live in a low Manhattan and ridiculous of something like a whale you spending of your money that a electricity bill for the company and that company going to get selfish and greedy and especially that to all of you right now I do love to say this for telling the truth

  12. I see you guys are still wanting to drop viewership/ratings. Keep up the great work 👍

  13. Seriously? Has anyone here ever been to Africa? No white people live in cities? Is everything race related? WTF is this world coming to when melanin is deciding breaking news these days. Everyday. 25/8.

  14. Did you guys run out of stuff to write about? This is just false and you can’t make it make sense. The Middle East, Africa, South America, and Oceania are all places whose indigenous population are those of color and their civilizations have been there throughout time. The heat does not bother them or else their ancestors would have vacated those areas in search of more cooler climates. You guys are just trying to stir the pot.

  15. Right, because people who live in cities or have cardiac issues being at greater risk in heat wouldn't make a compelling story, so how can we reframe this?

  16. What bs is this. Black people do very well in the sun. It’s the cold they don’t do well in.

  17. I love how the description tried so hard to be deceiving with the "due to the underlying systemic inequities", when the simple translation is: "Poor people tend to have less ACs."

Knowing that researchers sometimes put out some BS 'discovery' like the ones you see in clickbait articles (pretty much this video) to keep their job, it's not surprising. I'm more concerned about the type of manager/director who greenlighted this.

  18. ABC, how about you grow a set and unhide the Dislike numbers on this virtue signaling CRT trainwreck of a video. 13.3 Million subs, only 6K views, and only 70 thumbs up votes. You're getting ratio'd and you don't want the world to know it.

  19. This is stupid. They should just say “urban dwellers are more prone to heat dangers”
And outside workers are more at risk.
