How much more time do people need? They've had a year to make a plan, take online classes to increase their value in the work place. These photos of protests wanting housing, if they'd get a job instead of hold up signs they could get a place to live. The real sign should read, "We lazy, take care of our fat rear ends."

This is bonkers. I can't even imagine not being able to evict someone living in your property rent free for the last year. I think I would've burned it to the ground by now rather than let that happen. Good thing nobody cares about landlords cause this is the worst violation of someone's property since the indians.

This phrase is euphemistic at best and deceptive at worst, How are 7 million people going to get the money to pay $18,000 in back rent or back mortgage? Each month only 200,000 dead-end, slave wage jobs are being created for an unemployed horde of 90 million!! As for infrastructure repair which is a 50-year old sham, we've seen bridge after bridge collapse and now a thousand ton apartment building has collapsed in South Florida killing about 150 people. The apartment building had been sinking in South Florida's muck at the rate of 2 millimeters year for thirty years and nobody who monitored this horribly dangerous event gave a damn to do anything about it but to just keep collecting the rent. And these are the type of people who are going to repair the American infrastructure – including 150 million units of free housing for the 200 million Americans who are now the "PUF"s"?
And what does "PUF's" mean? They are the Permanently Unemployed Forever!
People living rent free indefinitely and collecting huge unemployment checks, its like 50 million people won the lottery and I dont get anything. Takes all my motivation away.

We have had people taking advantage of landlords for more than a year now. I am fully sick of it. We have been bent over and taken advantage of for so long. We have had renters file for assistance and have been in limbo for 4 months of waiting for something that I have no confidence or assurance of getting the rent from the agencies. I have so many of the renters who have continued to work this entire time and stopped paying rent. I will have absolutely no way to collect from a majority of these people.
This is not a solution. This is creating a huge problem that did not exist. If these tenants had to apply for assistance and prove they were impacted most would have moved or paid their rent. The ones who qualify would receive help. Stealing from landlords to win points is not going to help democrats next election.
Know a lady who just evicted a renter of her property after 9 months of no payments. They caused damage to the home, left 5 truck loads of garbage she had to remove ……….She lost $20k in rent, damages, court costs etc….Kick the deadbeats out!

As the Delta Covid variant is taking hold in the U.S., more infectious & virulent than the original, consideration of prolonging the eviction moratorium by another 6 months or longer appears to be much more prudent & realistic to contain the new variants.
They need get off there asses back to work. Who the hell you idiots thank you are ? Telling the owner they can’t throw some out that isn’t paying rent . This news made me feel sick when I heard it yesterday. We now have 30% not paying rent. We're paying the mortgage, property tax, etc out of our retirement money. We still have to keep up on repairs, utilities, management expenses, etc. It's extremely expensive to keep a building going in an urban area. We had our hopes set on this ending next week so that we can start digging ourselves out of this hole. Now the government has knocked us down again. All we did to deserve this is to invest our life savings in a small, affordable apartment building in a lower income neighborhood. Something everyone says that there isn't enough of in this country. When did this country start hating people who saved and invested for their own retirement? The worst part is that they announce these "short-term" extensions a few days before the next time it's supposed to end. It's impossible to plan. If I had known 6-12 months ago that this would happen we would have sold before we were this far in the hole. Now we're stuck with a property that we would have to sell in distress.

The average rent per month stands at $1180.00 in the U.S. as of 2018. That is not sustainable with current wages. 28 percent of workers in this country make less than $15.00 per hour. That is over one fourth of the total workforce. At $600.00 a week that's $2400.00 per month, before taxes. That leaves $1220.00 before taxes for everything else like food, health, clothing, utilities, transportation, and recreation.
This only delays the crisis. What can be done? Tell the landlords forget what's owed you? Tell the tenants you must pay months of back rent now? A total cluster f**k.

Tenants GET A JOB! Tenants need to remember they have future rent to pay if they want to continue living there.
Some tenants receive stimulus checks, unemployment benefits, and will receive rental assistance. Tenants get a job and save so you can pay future rent. Extending eviction moratorium will not help. And if they continue to extend the deadline, same tenants complaining now will complain again. Some tenants do not want to work and pay their own bills. Too many Americans depending on the government (similar to Welfare and Section 8). Government programs keep people in poverty. END EVICTION MORATORIUM
Tenants need to get a job and pay landlords until they receive rental assistance. Rent is increasing and if tenants don’t have jobs they will complain next year.

States and the CDC should encourage or make sure tenants get fully vaccinated and get a job. Millions of tenants will still be act risk to get evicted if they can’t pay 2022 bills. They don’t want to work at all. Millions of jobs are available and millions of tenants not working
