Otherwise there has to be some kind of mail in voting. Because half the country can't get to the polls when they only have 10 hours for one day. Hell, I know people who wanted to vote for Trump a lot, but Trump told them mail in ballots weren't good and they couldn't get off of work or get a ride on election day… So they couldn't vote.
