And today in the NYT there’s an article about the USS COMFORT only taking 20 patients so far…the ship has a 1,000 bed capacity…what?…no good explanation from Navy officials in charge except to say they’re not “outfitted” to take CV19 cases? What? Supposedly the intention was to take NON-COVID cases, for which there is no great emergency 🚨 at the moment. I guess the Navy didn’t get the memo and NYC hospital personnel are infuriated….AND MAY I SAY, UNDERSTANDABLY SO!!! Supposedly NYC hospitals are using all available space, even the lobbies. So why can’t a Navy hospital ship take on whatever overflow the hospitals need to give them❓❓❓Seems there was NO pre-coordination of what was actually needed by the desperate NYC hospitals. But you know, at NYC hospitals, they’re kind of busy right now, tending to the very sick and dying, so could maybe SOMEONE from the Navy have checked with hospital officials in NYC, or the mayor’s office or the governor’s office to find out more precisely what they needed before making the long journey to NYC just to take on 20 not so seriously ill patients?
