1. USC is one step above community College and you have to pay a bribe? Those must be some really dumb kids wtf?? I can understand greasing a few palms to get into Yale but USC?? My wife's cousin is a USC grad and the dumbass of the family. Lol

21. 6 months is not long enough to teach a lesson. Just like the 2 weeks that Felicity Hoffman got. Being sentenced to a country club prison doesn't teach a lesson either. Regular prison with a very long sentence and heafty fine is the only way to do it. If safety is a factor then put them in isolation. Just because you are rich and famous, shouldn't mean that you should be treated differently than anyone else. A crime is a crime no matter what.

39. Why am I not surprised by this? Oh yeah, because it’s not a smart move on the parents’ behalf to be part of a huge scandal that has major impact on college students who have worked their butts off to get to attend the college of their choice and then find out that they have been denied while parents who are rich, but not famous, bribe and falsify their children’s grades on their SAT scores, have their children use accommodations that they clearly didn’t need because they didn’t have any disability, and/or claim that their child is pro at (insert unusual sport available here) when it’s clear that they have used photoshop on posters of students they don’t even know.

    Sorry if I’m ranting, I am very frustrated with this whole scandal thing because I have been a student attending a community college for a couple years now and I’ve legitimately needed accommodations for me to be successful in my classes as I have cerebral palsy and ADHD, alongside executive functioning skill deficits that are the result of a brain hemorrhage that I had before I was born. I never took the SAT or ACT, so I didn’t go into the college I had originally applied for. Community college has allowed me a smoother transition to help me out with my college and career path.

    Honestly I hope that karma will teach everyone that played a part in this scandal a powerful lesson that they shouldn’t be using their rich and fame influences as a privilege of getting their children in the best colleges out there. Children who are heading towards college must work towards their own goals for getting admitted into the college of their choice, not having their parents be led astray by methods used in this scandal such as believing a company that claims that they could help them with getting their children into their dream college by telling parents to have their kids fake disabilities, have a proctor change their SAT scores, etc.

    I’m telling you, if another scandal like this happens again, then it is clear that the United States is failing its next generation of their workforce and leaders. The education system is going to need to be flipped over 180 degrees to be successful. This is only my opinion. I am curious about what other people have to say about this, but please be respectful of each other’s opinions, because there’s no right or wrong answer to this issue.
