In China everyone buys Chinese made things, because the tariffs on foreign goods make them more expensive. Trump is doing the same thing in the US, and forcing things sold here to be made here. 18. Most of what is exported to Mexico from the US is raw goods and parts, sent there by US companies to have their things made with slave wages. It's gonna be funny if Mexico retaliates and puts a 25% tariff on all things entering their country from the US. This will mean that companies like GM will be paying 25% to ship the parts down there to assemble their trucks, and then 25% to get the finished trucks back into the US. If they try to pass the cost on to consumers, people will just buy a Dodge truck made in the US that costs less.
