Chloe Weigan’s grandfather had no idea that a window on the Royal Caribbean vessel was open when he walked her to a glass wall, the family’s attorney said.

It was preventable. Her grandfather could have kept her off the handrail.
Yes he did he poked his head out the window
I can't imagine dropping chloe out the window poor baby can u imagine what she thought falling to her death 😱😱😱
It could have been prevented, next time leave either the kid or grandpa at home.
Is the colorblind thing corroborated?
Doesn't matter if it's a kids area, windows open up for ventilation, it gets hot, when the boat isn't moving. All The windows open up above the hand railing for safety. I've never seen a kid climb above the hand rail to see out. The windows are floor to ceiling and lean outward so kids can walk up against the window and see below. Absolutely no reason you need to lift your kids up to see out.
Seriously can’t understand the ppl who see absolutely no fault in the cruise ship.
Does it feel good to lick the boots of a multimillion dollar company everyone
The window shouldn’t have been open and everyone saying otherwise … find your fucking empathy. You’re all fucking lucky to not have something tragic like this happen to you in front of the whole world
it was preventable don't put a child that close to an open window, the windows are tinted so there Is no way he didn't know it was open
hilarious. Imagine seeing that girl fall to her death and drowning lol
If he had difficulty discerning why not check the window before putting her up to it. The window clearly looks open in front of your face and on camera. The breeze probably could have gave it away or the other tinted windows. Why not check the window by putting his hand up to it before putting a child there. He is blaming negligence on a point of not being able to tell if the window was open, in front of his face when, he wears glasses. If he would have let her play in the play area or on the floor not near a window this wouldn't have happened. The cruise lines tell people to supervise children assuming they would have discernment or small common sense. You have to be extremely attentive to surroundings when dealing with children. When dealing with children you're supposed to check the environment around you for safety precautions. The area they were in the bar/smoking area not the play area (was safe for children) and bypassed the safety rail.
I have been viewing and reading about this 'accident.' The family should be grieving, but to sue the cruise line for the grandfather's mistake is what is wrong with people in America. Take personal responsibility for you own actions. The grandfather placed the toddler in a dangerous situation and the blame shift to the cruise line is just disgusting. Not that I am in favor or care one bit about the cruise line, but hey it was not the company's fault. Americans apparently refuse to be responsible for their actions, and when the opportunity presents itself to make some cash, hey lets sue the company for having windows on the ship. These people should be ashamed and get rid of the lawyers. Bury the girl and heal each other.
this family is a disgrace i am sorry to say try and Blame the cruise line for the grandfathers action now he has been charged with murder and rightfully so
The Grandfather was just charged for negligent homicide. This was a horrible accident and I don't think he should be in prison as he will blame himself for the rest of his life. But the family need to stop blaming the cruise ship. They shouldn't be letting their kid bang on glass windows
The world lost this beautiful young angel 👼
Looks to me as if they killed their own daughter for money
Parents: sue the cruise for not installing glass screen
Cruise: sue you for your negligence on causing your own daughter’s death
He had no idea the window was open bullshit, they were either extorted or blackmailed to murder that child. Or they are sick themselves, either way watch your surroundings everyone the occult is everywhere. She will get peace soon.
Bullsh!+. He didn't put her up to the window without knowing it was open. C'mon, and the only open window around?🤨 He knew it was, and wanted her to look out, to show her the view and he either: possibly got distracted and she slipped or leaned. She probably had a head like a cinder block, and he lost his grip when she leaned her head and all that weight forward while he wasn't holding her securely. Or either he was an absolute total moron, who actually sat her on the edge of the window to see out.
Was alcohol really not involved -was his blood tested immediately after? Gosh, was he high and just completely and totally inexperienced with children??
Awww prayers for this family ! Poor baby girl !but people need to think before doing certain things
The next thing you know, fire burns people to death on cruise ship because all the windows are closed.
When it comes to a tragic accident that leads to a sudden loss, your brain can’t comprehend it and the grief is so unbearable. So finding someone to blame is the only option the brain is left with and automatically shift’s to everyone and everything involved with the accident. I once blamed a tree for the loss of half my family in a tragic accident, a week before Christmas 2013. I understand and empathize with the pain this this mother is going through…
Knowing how much the grandfather loved his granddaughter, has probably made it impossible to place blame where it actually belongs, even though it was a freak accident, it was still a bad judgement call/negligent decision that lead to the babies death. However, I do not think for a second that the grandfather intended any harm upon his precious granddaughter and can’t imagine the pain he is in and will continue to live in until the day he leaves this world. Which is exactly the reason why this mother is seeking to place blame elsewhere.
Unfortunately, she will replay the domino effect of events leading up to that tragic moment for years to come and most definitely blames herself in some capacity. They will most likely not win in a lawsuit because the cruise ship wasn’t negligent. They didn’t lift the baby up to an open window on a railing and then proceed to let her go.
When people are on vacation, they are in a relaxed state of mind and are less alert for dangers that might be around them. Had it been the mother picking up her daughter near that window, I don’t believe this would have happened. Us mothers have that internal, check everything for danger in fear of our babies getting hurt, alarm, that is just ingrained in us from the moment we give birth to our offspring. Unfortunately, grandfathers are not equipped with that same internal alarm.
I’ll tell you this though, that mother lost her babygirl in such a truly, horrific way during what was suppose to be a fun, family vacation. That pain is enough to welcome death upon yourself just to make it stop. Her suing isn’t money motivated at all but grief motivated. Trying to make sense of it motivated. No amount of money can replace what it is lost when you lose a child or family member. ðŸ’ Rest easy, Chloe.
I get the feeling that he was intoxicated and noticed one of the windows was open, so he brought the baby over the railing to feel the strong breeze and see the ocean and accidentally dropped her. If my theory is true, he should be charged with child endangerment and involuntary manslaughter. By the way, I just got back from my cruise on Royal Caribbean, Brilliance of the Seas last month and I remember how the windows did have a slight UV tint on them and it’s not all crystal clear. There were some strong gusts of wind as well, so you would know if it was open or not. Sorry, Grampa..
Negligence on the family case closed.
Nobody suppose to be walking on rails young or old.
Already an attorney unbelievable.
Well parents should be responsible and be aware of their children’s surroundings when they are outside of their elements. Dont blame the damm ship
Grand pa you messed up , it's sad really is but you messed not no one else but you only you…..
Knowing that she likes to touch windows why didn't the grandfather "CHECK" thew window. It is not the fault of the cruise line.
WATCH your kids people.
That scum bucket lawyer will try to say it was preventable in order to blame the cruise ship, but he will be wrong!! This tragedy rest solely on carelessness of the grand father!!
Poor little girl. Sounds like the grandfather/family knew she liked banging on glass windows….. maybe they should take responsibility for there child…. IDIOTS looking for some $$$$ !!!!!!
0:55 Theres like 30 windows open and the ones that are closed are noticeably blue. This shows the windows are opened all the time while the family is questioning why a single window was opened at a specific time.
This is not the cruises fault. Its pretty disgusting they think it is and how they are appearing for TV interviews so fast.
Pro tip: study the difference between glass and air before babysitting
That window could have been closed by the grandfather (it slides), he could have looked over a closed window, but saying that the cruise ship is to blame so just as bad as holding a small kid outside the window. Please take ownership over your poor decisions…blaming the cruise-line isn't the way to go, they didn't force the grandfather to do it and to say that he didn't know there wan't glass there is in itself shows poor decision making practice. It is 100% the Grandfather's fault and I hope any judge looking at this case to rule on the side of common sense and not have the cruise-line pay anything except parenting classes.
In my opinion, children below age 4 should not be on cruise ships period… the girl should have been held securely ..also, were the windows all crystal clean? Was it impossible to tell if one was open (??)
