Sounds like product placement gone so extreme, that it has now also taken the form of a curricular or university "research"?
Athletes and team sportsmen/sportswomen are already being turned into walking billboards for designated products. I am reminded of a "Futurama" episode [Fox31 show] where the character of Fry is exposed to "ads" in his dream, i.e. while asleep. The idea here was that it was now possible, in the future, for big business to stream commercials or ads into regular folks' dreams as they slept.

It's not the time delay but that it's pushed on the first side harder than the second side is placed onto it. I figured this out in 1985 when i was 8 year old.
