39. First of all the income limit should be raised to get the check. But if this check is based on income, it should NOT be based on income from only ONE year. It should be the average of at least two years. I have been living on an extremely extremely modest income, then husband passed away so I sold the ONE nest egg I had (other than that, nothing) which was an income property and I desperately needed the money as a new widow and am tired of hurricanes threatening here in FL and bad tenants that give me such headaches. So please take note—all these years my income has been extremely /"pitifully" modest, including when husband was alive, then one year I sell the only investment property and asset I own for $165,000 and this happened in one year which makes me look high income but this should not disqualify me. Just take a look at my income tax statements over the years. Don't look at income for just one year. Also widows should get more lenient status as well as other vulnerable groups. I have been doing my best not to be a burden on society, using what little money I have left after capital gains and depreciation capture tax killed me on making any decent profit from sale of property but what little I made I put into education and took course in MRI to be MRI tech and therefore not working much because I am studying MRI over the past couple of months. So my situation is very frightening. And BTW, I have been following CDC guidelines to prevent transmission (social distancing, hygiene, etc.) to the letter. I never bought a house or signed for a mortgage I couldn't afford as was done back in mid 2000s. I pay my bills. I am a responsible person ! Also I have never had children, never in my life collected welfare, unemployment or ANY public assistance, first to graduate college in my family, worked at supermarket part time but still had health insurance (college health insurance) when I was in college although I lived on about five dollars pocket change per week after gas, family was not supportive of me in college (I was a "college snob", they were callous and dysfunctional but that is another story) I have always had health insurance throughout my entire life since my dad;s plan stopped at me turning 18. (This was the 80s) Never had bad credit or bankruptcy. Now what does the future hold for me? Looks very bad.
