Steve Scalise delivers speech at 2020 RNC

1. House minority whip Steve Scalise said that the past three republican presidents have been challenged in January, by democrats, but it's really only two. George W. Bush, twice. And Trump, in 2017. Btw, Congressman, they were different situations. In 2001, democrats contested a razor-thin recount in Florida. One state determined the presidency, not three or four relatively widely- won states, like 2020. In 2005, Barbara Boxer disputed Ohio fraud in the 2004 election, only to shine light on the problem, (below). Plus she lost huge in both chambers of Congress. In 2017, democrats challenged the election, only to bring out the Russian interference in cyber attacks on the DNC, and manipulating public opinion in social media. There was much more evidence of that, than fraud in 2020. CNN.com: Boxer said that Tubbs Jones, who died in 2008, convinced her to join the 2005 objection by showing her the problems that took place with Ohio's votes, including hours-long lines at polls, broken voting machines and high rejection rates for provisional ballots in the state's African American communities.
   "This objection does not have at its root the hope or even the hint of overturning the victory of the president," Tubbs Jones said on the House floor when the two chambers separated to debate. "But it is a necessary, timely and appropriate opportunity to review and remedy the most precious process in our democracy."
   In the Senate, Boxer's fellow Democrats spoke in support of addressing problems with voter suppression. But when it came time to vote, only Boxer cast a vote to sustain the protest. She lost 74-1.
