  3. As always only one at a time, 40 years between him a Denzel Washington, and Funny you mention Oscar so white, but I find it so peculiar that all the racism and hate he stills marry a white woman? The successful, rich black man has to have a white woman to complete his status? nothing change

  4. Sidney Poitier was an extraordinary man. An extraordinary actor. The world has lost an phenomenal human being. Mr. Sidney Poitier you shall be truly missed. May you rest in Paradise!

  5. I am not white or black but I truly miss this exceptional artist who gave us plenty of inspiration and joy through his movies. His legacy is going to stay with us. Thank you!

  6. My Daddy was a teacher high school during the year and college during the summer. He was my 🎶Sir with Love🎶, always will be. 😢

  7. I am telling you I never expected that slap the first time I saw the movie I was like whaaattt…I enjoyed every movie together with my dad. And it is true please and thank you opens door for you.
Blessings to his family. They have lost a father, brother, uncle, grandfather and a lot more. But he will live on, on screen and in our hearts. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️

  8. ✨❤️✨beautifully said…

  9. Greatness. Legend. Gifted.
Thank you, Sidney. Thank you, Father God. Rest well🙏🏽

  10. Sidney Poitier definitely came from a Royal lineage.
    Rest In Peace,Sir Sidney Poitier.🙏🏽😪💖

  11. You succeeded Mr. Poitier! You broke barriers, appeared in roles that smashed taboos and conducted yourself with a powerful artistic eloquence. Your roles as an actor are remarkable and timely even today.

  12. Greatness magnified by his simplicity and tenacity. You can't help but be drawn on screen to his intensity. He overshadowed everyone who shared the screen with him. Went toe to toe with the great Katherine Hepburn.

  13. I don't know how many times I saw "To Sir, With Love" or "In the Heat of the Night" and his other films. When "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" came out, that's all people talked about in the neighborhood. He was the first black person I saw on TV playing dignified roles. I watched "Pressure Point" on TV where Poitier played a psychiatrist and it gave me terrible nightmares as a kid. I can't think of anyone in the cinematic field who's more respected in the black commmunity. May the Universe rest his soul.

  14. Sidney Poitier was a glimmering spark of power and a person who stands up to manipulators. I feel like he gave us ideas of the higher mysteries of power. Also, in his teacher role of his school movie makes one think of the higher mysteries of dominating a classroom and know the higher mysteries of suggestions of classrooms which may make others try too hard because someone can be too powerful in such ways because of his pioneering in these ways of what I speak. Sydney Poitier…you have sparked some infinity leagues I believe.

  15. I want to just cry. He really did something for me growing up. I was so proud of him, and me speaking as a white woman. He was one of the greatest and most admireable. His courage and dignity was so profound. Our country would not be the same without him. Thank you, Sidney P. You were awesome!! ❤

  16. Such an amazing man & actor. He didn't even need to say a word, but exuded grace & most of all dignity. This is very evident in the film,In the heat of the Night. He was acting yes,but easy for him as it was his natural disposition. Rest in Peace Sir x

  17. Omg .🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 never ever been so sad at the death of an actor .omg im so sad 😞. Loved you Sydney 😢. May you rest in peace …so sad here 🥺🥺🥺🥺

  18. I really enjoyed the movie “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” and “Sneakers” plus “Little Nikita”

  19. I will never understand why is it that a human being who is intelligent, gracious, smart, beautiful should have to fight for a piece of this God-given world that we have all rights to. And why do Black people or people of color continue to live up to expectations to White folks? WHY?

  20. What a Giant and left us with what the words Dignity, Grace, and Elegance means. Chadwick Boseman was so much like Sidney Poitier!. Rest in Paradise, you two Kings!!
    🙏🏽💙
