17. 90 days for all illegals to turn themselves in, they will be processed and deported at there own expense at which point they can apply to come back the legal way behind those who were already doing so. For those who don't turn themselves in it is from that point on a felony to be caught here without legal status. Those caught are fined heavily, they can work it off in prison, and then are deported. Start fining and jailing those harboring illegals, politicians included. Better security measures whatever is going to work (probably a combination of things) need to be implemented. Is a wall the best solution, probably not but may be needed in some areas along with other measures. I guarantee this would deter the majority of future illegals from ignoring the laws of our country. I'd wager the only people who would risk it at that point would be people smuggling drugs or other contraband.

Walls remain a very ordinary security measure used in innumerable applications. Of course they cannot stop all cross border illegal traffic. The wall is a mereological element- a part of the security equation.
