17. I’m vaccinated and feel it’s a personal choice. Either way, nobody should be critiqued for their decision. However, I am critical of mainstream media portrayal of the risk of death from COVID. You still have an approx 99% chance of surviving the virus! Death rate is still around 1%. That’s hardly a catastrophic human extinction event that media seems to report. It’s fear mongering and there’s never a reminder that survival rate is 99%. That’s right 99%, meaning most people will not die from it!!!Media makes it seem like healthy people are dying everywhere, kids are getting sick, hospitals overwhelmed , etc. Its not productive reporting to scare the public like that. If your doctor said you have cancer but there’s 99% chance you’ll survive, your reaction and decision making about a vaccine will be much more relaxed, less panicky. If your Doctor told you have cancer omitting the 99% survival rate, your reaction will obviously be more panicked. I want the media to do more informative productive reporting and stop scaring people into getting vaccinated. It’s pathetic.
