Remembering legendary PBS news anchor Jim Lehrer

12. I can't say I ever watched him or even heard his voice, but RIP. Massive respect for a mediaperson with his principles.

13. Jim Lehrer and former PBS co host Robert MacNeil who were both part of the White House Press Corps, were in Dallas TX, Nov. 22, 1963 the day President John Kennedy was shot dead, MacNeil's testimony has supported the official story ever since..

    He says he heard a single shot then two more in quick succession, he went into the portal of the TSBD where he encountered a young man he subsequently identified as Lee Harvey Oswald, who he says directed him to the nearest telephone.

    Lehrer says he stayed at Dallas Love Field with Air Force One .. as well as identifying the shooters on the Grassy Knoll the Moorman shot reveals about twenty muzzle flashes including the "Oliver Stone" flash from further along the fence line.

16. Growing up watching Jim Lehrer on TV established a sense of trust, day after day. I've always felt what he and PBS Newshour reported was truth. First Terry Jones and now Mr. Lehrer, its been a tough week.

44. I was too young to watch Edward R. Murrow. During high school, college, and after college I watched the Newshour with Jim Lehrer religiously. He was my coming-of-age, college-curriculum, and post "graduate" life-long learning. I will miss my teacher.
