  1. I apologize for the typos experiencing some technical difficulties. My condolences to those who lost their family members and to those who were injured. I hope that those who were physically injured will get well and fully recover physically and mentally.

  2. I understand people died and others injured. I do not know much about this case other than the brakes supposably failed which caused this accident. If that is true and the brakes did fail 110 years is outrageous. This is just my opinion and you know what they say about people's opinions but no pun intended if the brakes did fail it is not his fault and he should not get any time at all. It's hard enough when the brakes fail on an average size U-Haul truck now imagine what he went through again if it was due to brake failure that was beyond his control.

  3. Wasn't it the prosecutors who started all this. Now they're scared of the public and public outcry because people within their so called team shows their lack of empathy. It was the prosecutor who drafted what they were going to charge him with. Betcha they're getting nervous About the publicity and being identified in town ..

  4. Damn I feel bad for him why he gets so many years but a rapist. A murder a thug get less years. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

  5. He turned down a plea deal for 10-20 saying all he deserved was a traffic ticket. That's something a remorseful person would do right ??

He chose to bypass 4 runaway truck ramps and refused to simply roll off into the ditch. He didn't have to drive his semi into stopped traffic…he didn't. He killed 4 innocent people and injured many others.
27 convictions including the 4 deaths equals 110 years.
He was originally charged with 40 counts. Did everyone like expect all the charges to be dropped or something???
The more crimes you commit the longer your sentence is. It's really that simple.
Also he shifted out of gear at high speeds and therefore he couldn't downshift to engine brake. That's negligence not a brake malfunction.

    Happy new year everyone!

  6. I don’t know the fully story but I will say if this was genuinely an accident, some of those family’s need to calm down. I mean if the brakes went out that’s not his fault. Even if he was in a panic and made the wrong choice. It’s still an accident. They happen every day.

  7. His sentence should not be drastically reduced. Maybe reduced a small amount. 4 people dead 10 seriously maimed for life. He was negligent he could’ve took a runaway truck ramp which are indicated by multiple flashing signs and he was speeding to begin with. He doesn’t deserve sympathy he could’ve prevented those deaths.

  8. In this case, even a 30 year sentence will do nothing for the injured and families who lost loved ones. This young man is genuinley remorseful. He could rather serve the community and pay some restitution to a victim restition fund (a percentage of income) for the rest of his life while becoming a productive member of society. Was he speeding because the brakes failed? Was this entirely his fault?

  9. The prosecutor is a racist no-doubt-about-it look at everyone's case of an accident they get three or four years tops but this racist prosecutor wants to get 30 years

White woman Ashley Shepherd Indiana ran a school bus stop sign killing 3 kids gets 4 years in prison.

Hispanic truck driver brakes go out get 110 years in prison nope this isn't a racially-motivated sentence look the other way.

  10. My opinion is that this is partly on the guy in my opinion and I’ll explain why

First of all my dad owns a trucking company and one of the things u have to do before u hit the road is do an inspection to make sure everything is good. Assuming this guy didnt do it, the brakes had probably been broken the whole time which caused all this to happen. Now unless he inspected it and didnt find a problem and THEN had the issue that’s a different story.

  11. ~~Driving dRuNk and KILLED FOUR~~

Ethan, now 22, was sentenced to 10 years of probation after a 2013 manslaughter trial in which a psychologist testified that Couch, who was 16 at the time of the crash, was affected by “affluenza,” or irresponsibility caused by family wealth.

  12. our judicial system is operating with totally inept personal at the wheel. KR was acquitted of all charges because they felt he feared for his life disregarding the fact he went into a heated area with a loaded weapon as if daring someone to mess with him (with police blessings). This guy was put on the road in a semi needing repairs, the unintentional happens and the system wants to end his life…..

  13. Putting him behind bars for 100+ years will not fix the issue. This will not be the last time if congress will not step in. Mandatory of vehicle inspection at least once a month by a mechanic rather than the driver himself should be in place, at least six months of training for people wanting to get their CDL and 3 months supervised driving after they get their CDLs, make it illegal for companies to force drivers to “speed up or less load assigned to them” or worst lose their jobs, and every state DMVs should assigned third party CDL testers random testees rather than testees schedule their appointment with the tester to minimize “paid CDLs”.

  14. Nope, he should've driven into the emergency exit. Had opportunities to stop the truck and didn't. Send him to jail and forget about him.

  15. If the prosecutor is so sympathetic why did she file some many counts? The prosecutor has complete discretion in deciding what to charge and how many counts. Regardless, even if the sentence is reduced to 25 years that's still a bitter pill for him to swallow.

  16. He knew his brakes were out

He knew to use the ramp for this exact reasoning

Chose to kill 4 people instead of taking the ramp.

    Wants forgiveness

  17. This man shouldn't even have to serve a single day. Until our society thinks and behaves as it should we all deserve everything reprehensible because of such actions. Sad. Sad. Sad.😭

  18. His brakes failed BEFORE he reached 85 mph, so your chyron is wrong. It's because his brakes failed that he reached that speed on a downhill run. Personally, I think his boss and the company CEO, should each share about a third of whatever sentence he gets, and the driver the other third. He TOLD them there was a problem with the brakes, and they insisted he continue his assignment.

  19. Gotta love Democrat prosecutors and democrats running the justice system where they are going easy on hard AF criminals but wanna destroy a young minority man’s life over something that he wasn’t responsible for.

  20. He was offered a 10 year deal and chose to go to court instead of trying to get a better offer. So I got no pity for him . He passed 3 runaway ramps not one or two but three. So he has no defense there.

  21. This is seriously ridiculous! I hope all truckers refuse to come to Colorado.
This is why you get rid of mandatory minimum sentencing. Even the judge said himself that he wouldn’t give this sentence out. So then ask yourself… Why do we even have a judge sitting up there is he just a robot? The legal system is so damn stupid they can’t even correct it own mistakes.
Honestly this isn’t justice it’s just vengeance.

  22. Why isn't the Trucking company taking any blame for this? Why is he taking all the blame when the Trucking company has violations?
Do he do the whole 25 years or 12.5 years? 30 straight years or 15 years?
Just asking questions. I am completely confused about this whole case. If any trucker can help me understand How an ACCIDENT turn into 110 years with the actual trucking company not taking any responsibility at all?
    I am baffled by this.

  23. I'm glad that 4.5M+ people came together on this as well as other drivers refusing to go into Colorado for an overkill sentence. Guy should serve 15 to 20 for negligence.
The very minority of people saying "make him serve all 110 years"
"The guy needs a longer sentence "
Ect, I guarantee these people don't live in the state that's being boycotted atm so they don't have to feel the economic downfall from this case.
I'm not saying the state should free the guy, just reduce the sentence to the plea deal they offered, 10 to 20

  24. Wow, 110 to 20-30 – that’s BS. Don’t be fooled by the cut in time, do not settle for this just because it’s less.
