Presidential opinion and the actions of an independent Department of Justice are two separate things which actually used to be the policy of the US government prior to the Trump Era, when Trump, declared that the DOJ belonged to him and did his bidding. The fact that Biden let's the DOJ act without his personal interference is refreshing. Additionally we are two plus years into the pandemic and vaccines and treatments have greatly improved.
