32. In the America I grew up in in the south in the 1960s nooses were reserved for bad white people in movies such as Hang 'em High, Clint Eastsood's first full length movie.     People who file false claims. Make false accusations, file false allegations need to pay, not only with civil penalties but also jail time.

    Actions like these undermine the idea that our justice system protects the innocent, prosecutes the guilty and takes every alleged case seriously.

    Dropping the charges on a person who chooses to stage a very serious alleged crime is not the message that should be sent to America or the rest of the world.

    False accusations, destroy reputations, lives and livelihoods of innocent people.

    A counter-factual to think about: What if a group or pair of men happened to fit the description given just happend to be apprehended not far from the alleged scene? Would this fake victim have suddenly grown a conscience? Would he have come forward to exonerate them?
    Would he have even been able to make them whole after a furiously malicious media tore those person limb from limb?

    There is NO MORE "BELIEVING THE VICTIMS," when stuff like this is perpetrated. It's stuff like this that make all real victims lose their credibility. It's stuff like this that perpetuates the hateful narratives in our society.

    This guy should be prosecuted as a criminal and nothing less.

    Filing false accusations and allegations should be a felony in all jurisdictions and should be taken extremely seriously because it undermines the validity of our legal system and the fabric of our society!
