    I hope our governor and mayor's act on this!
    We also have a major metro (Mpls/St. Paul) an hour or something away from another state. There are counties in WI which might have more sales in fireworks, alcohol and cigarettes than anything else.
    Those giant fireworks stores are profiting from untrained people using dangerous explosive devices. We pay for the extra fire-fighters, hospitalizations and permanent disabilities.
    China also profits by manufacturing fireworks and producing the toxic heavy metal salts and percolate. The stuff ends up poisoning our soil and water, sickening little kids, anyone with respiratory disease, and anyone who swims or eats fish in the area.
    The fireworks and bombs often hurt my ears. I can't imagine the terror and misery dogs must feel.
    Every day I hear many hundreds of explosions, even with all windows closed and the TV on.
    I know people are bored, frustrated, and angry. But disrupting people's sleep will make EVERYONE more irritable and weaken our immune systems.
    I wonder also how folks in my low income neighborhood can afford professional-grade fireworks and illegal explosives. I also wonder if some of these have been brought to our city by white supremacists who are looking forward to a race war or 2nd civil war.

26. Many people don't realize, but fireworks actually act as miniature bombs. If one detonates right next to you, limbs are gonna come off. Even the tiny ones will leave you with 3rd degree burns if you get too close. Shrapnel flies everywhere. They are especially dangerous if used improperly. I don't recommend lighting them in the middle of a major city if you are untrained.
