Following two failed attempts, crews will begin to offload some of the cargo to decrease the ship’s weight.

  1. Being an ex navy man navigation in potentially shallow waters is a location where every thing must be taken into consideration. Relying on. Computer navigation "Alone". Is asking for trouble. Navigation satilites is unwise. To many things can affect their accuracy.

  2. It would be interesting to know the circumstances of this going aground.
    According to the position of the ship on the map, she seems to be outside the channel, almost on the edge of it;
    Possibly steering system or / and engine failure, or human error, difficult to say as we are not a crew member nor an expert commissioned to solve the problem.
    So please gentlemen, comment with moderation, and don't blame a captain or pilot, and keep in mind a ship has no brake, and even at low speed, has a HHHUUUGGGEEE inertia.

  3. it is unlikely the ships captain or pilot detoured off the approved designated route. So the next question would be how often are theses routes surveyed to verify they remain safe for shipping to navigate? This is more a failure of nations not updating and lack of recent surveysand to keep shipping with the latest ocean charts and verify this, at risk route is safe to navigate.

  4. It took them 3 weeks to think to decrease the weight to increase buoyancy? It took me 3 seconds to figure that out. The only other option would be to increase the water amount in the bay by opening dams but that would pollute the Bay and possibly kill it's ecosystem.

  5. How though. That ship has to have systems to warn crew if that'll happen. Did gps fail? See if an icebreaker can be commissioned. It'll probably cost less than what is spent on time messing with.

  6. Try installing inflatable equipment at only one end, concentrating on lifting only 1/3rd, just enough to maintsin balance,then tug boat it.

  7. Vote to get rid of Biden, AOC and the Squad in the next election 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙👍👍👍..Let's Go Brandon!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

  8. After all else failed, someone said "Here's a radical idea: instead of sending hundreds of truck's worth of stuff via trains or heaven forbid, I-95, let's float all of that down the Chesapeake. Not on any boat, but rather the one which blocked the Suez Canal for a few weeks".

  11. It may be that these giant cargo ships are too difficult to handle and control in restricted waters, and that’s why this is the second one to get stuck.
