16. Am I also completely out of touch? As far as I can tell, Cory is definitely the most "well-spoken" among the democratic candidates. He really stands out in the debates, not because of his policies but because of his rhetoric. Bloomberg's tone is definitely somewhere between adulatory and indifferent, and definitely not condescending. Not saying he hasn't enforced laws that had racist consequences, but this seems like a bit of a stretch to me. I'm open to anyone that can change my mind. Tbh they're both shit candidates so idk why this is making headlines.

21. I’m quite sure that Bloomberg wasn’t trying to make a racist comment, but some people will be offended by anything even if it is a compliment. Being offended by a compliment shows a lack of confidence and sheds light on the offended persons insecurities.

Bernie Sanders is no stranger to high dollar donations either. His "The Sanders Institute", founded in 2017 has been known to cash a few large checks as well. 28. For anyone wondering, it was the "well spoken" part that was considered offensive. Although it seems like a compliment, the implication is that the person is stereotypically considered not well spoken (because they're black), and so referring to them as such is essentially saying "he's not ignorant like those other black folks". Basically, Bloomberg wouldn't have said this about one of the White candidates, or Yang I suppose, because White's and Asians are stereotypically considered educated, "well spoken", et cetera.
