  1. It's a singing competition, but singing very well will never be enough to make you pass it. You need to have accidents, you need to be blind, you need to be homeless, you need to have your family members did suicide, and more teary stories. Got it.

  2. it’s amazing girl Deirdre Sheehan Should American Idol
it’s American Dream to me all everything Meeting Luke Bryan
    emotional America idol Deirdre Sheehan)

  3. Once again the judges made the best artist on the show, the loser. They talk them up so much, the country gets sick of it and vote the underdog. The same thing happened to Adam Lambert.

  4. Several things come to mind here.  Obviously Laine is talented, handsome, and has stage presence;  in contrast to how performers are packaged by this type of platform,  Laine is also shy and endearing, qualities the corporate suits will [unfortunately]  wash away because they will try to morph this sweet young man into a sex symbol palatable for BOTH tweens and consumers of any gender or orientation over 18 because he has marketability across the board  … they will have a larger share of the market if they [ keep his Asian ethnicity in the background, and whitewash him for the Southern and Midwestern White Bible Belt, hence his mention of wearing a suit to church, checked off that box  ].  As an African American female,  I recall how Whitney Houston was "White washed" and watered down to be palatable across the board or mainstreamed by Clive Davis …her Gospel background was ERASED from her sound, [I am no Bible thumper] , however,  we see how that ended.  Laine Hardy has a sultry,  guttural , soulful voice, let's hope that he has someone around him who will let him stay the way HE wants to perform, NOT conform to a cookie cutter version of how the industry wants to MARKET him like a piece of meat.
Please stop saying he is the reincarnation of Elvis, he is an artist in his own right who is also a singer/ songwriter…[ like an Elton John, Carly Simone, Jim Croce , etc ]  If anything the focus should be on his talent as a performer and his ability to write his own material [ which means ROYALTIES and LONGEVITY, he can perform and also write for other artists ] in a very fickle and superficial industry, diversification is the key to survival.  Kelly Clarkson won AI in 2002, yet she just got out of the AI contract 2 YEARS AGO !  Basically they own his career until his contract is up…. he is too young to be touring nonstop to promote the AI brand, if anything, Alejandro, who is also EXTREMELY talented , got the better of the deal , because he is also a singer/songwriter who got to promote his own material exclusively on the show, and he is NOT bound to an American Idol contract for the next 16 years as a winner.  Hopefully Laine had legal representation to thoroughly research how binding the contract was, if it is anything like the one Kelly Clarkson signed…indentured servitude to the music industry is so early 2000, with artists  now self-publishing and downloading their OWN material WITHOUT the middle man [AI] .  Anyway, I wish him all the best of life and success in his future endeavors.  He really moved me with all of his performances, especially his rendition of "The Weight" sung as a duet with celebrity guest Ellie King, [ actor < Rob Schneider's daughter , who at 29 has the vocal strength of a Phoebe Snow and Janis Joplin, rolled into one ],  Ellie and Laine, both have Fillipino roots, I love that our country produces such wonderful music , from our DIVERSE fellow Americans.  Sidebar: the personal stories in this segment had me teary,   the suicides of his brothers broke my heart for this young man; we lost a 22 year old nephew and still grieve for him.
