The rainfall in this one area of Hawaii Island was immense, but it happens to already be a very high-rainfall location anyway. 28. To everyone feeling sorry for Hawaii, don't. Because they don't feel sorry for themselves. This weather happens more often than you think, and Hawaiians always help each other out. It's called "Ohana" (family), and everyone there is family to each other. The hurricane is just to wash away the leftover materials from Pele's island-construction, it's all in a season's work. Give them your best wishes, not sympathy. Islanders like us know how to handle these things, it's really nothing new.

    In a disasterous time, everyone does their part…All-For-One-And-One-For-All…something most Americans either forgot or never knew. That is the work you put in to enjoy the beauty of the Islands and it's people, who care more about other people than their own property or what political/social status they can obtain…another thing lost on most Americans, and indeed the world.

    Let's not forget the Puerto Rico is suffering far worse, and hurricane season is upon them too. Unlike Hawaii, Puerto Rico doesn't automatically have federal aid, and because Trump and his species hate non-whites and genuine Americans (so, anyone not like him), he won't help them. Only a handful of actual Americans with resources did what they could to help. Hawaii can take the bruising and come right back, but Puerto Rico never got help, and haven't rebuilt fast enough to withstand the current season now becuase they never got the resources they needed or were promised.

31. Hurricane hasn't even hit Hawaii and Trump declares national emergency. Hurricane wipes out Puerto Rico and two weeks later Trump throws paper towels at residents and says all is good now. Why the disparity?

32. This past year Hawaii has had Missile Threats, Volcanic activity, Earthquakes, record Wildfires and multiple Hurricanes Thank God no deaths were recorded
