Huge pod of dolphins spotted off California coast

12. It's called a super pod if its IOOO or more dolphins, this is most likely a super pod. They travel together in groups like this because they are the most social marine animal. Kf it were me I would get in and swim with them. I am a dolphin maniac and they are my fav. Animal ever. I study them for fun and I am going to high school and college to be a marine dolphin worker at georga aquariums, i know u didnt ask for my life story, i just adore dolphins 🙂

22. They ride for about 10 minutes when i go to Catalina. They are always doing that. They are very playful and have no fear of men because in California we consider them almost sacred. We love to fish but Dolphins, Whales and protected species are OFF LIMITS.
    That is just a big pod during Summer. They are Just having Fun guys, don't freak out!.

    Or on a broader fear scale, climate change causing changes and disturbances to species/ food distribution; maybe there is a huge but unusual feeding opportunity; they need all bodies for max wrangling success.

29. Would love to ask them what's up. Recent quakes have us all rattled up so it's not too far fetched to think it's a premonition. But then again it can be that they are just doing what dolphins do……swimming in a pod…….moving to better feeding grounds…….hope it's not anything ominous.
