The bill would raise the minimum age for buying semi-automatic rifles and would ban large-capacity magazines, but it faces almost zero chance of passing the Senate. ABC News’ Andrew Dymburt has more.

This pitiful ban doesn't matter worth a pisshole in the snow because it will never pass the senate (i.e. the more mature legislative body).
“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.â€ÂÂ
– Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776
“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.â€ÂÂ
– Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.â€ÂÂ
– Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788
“Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?â€ÂÂ
-Patrick Henry, Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution
“This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty…. The right of self defense is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.â€ÂÂ
– St. George Tucker, Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, 1803
“[I]f circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens. This appears to me the only substitute that can be devised for a standing army, and the best possible security against it, if it should exist.â€ÂÂ
– Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28, January 10, 1788
“The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American … the unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.â€ÂÂ
-Tenche Coxe, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788
“The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full possession of them.â€ÂÂ
-Zachariah Johnson, Virginia Ratifying Convention, June 25, 1788
“(C)onceived it to be the privilege of every citizen, and one of his most essential rights, to bear arms, and to resist every attack upon his liberty or property, by whomsoever made. The particular States, like private citizens, have a right to be armed, and to defend by force of arms, their rights, when invaded.â€ÂÂ
-Roger Sherman, Debates on 1790 Militia Act
He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.†The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.†“That’s enough!†he replied.
â€â€Â Gospel of Luke 22:36-38, NIV
“And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.†Qur’an 8:60
“Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessaryâ€ÂÂ
― Karl Marx
Fucking bullshit, stupid people think that guns are the problem!
High capacity magazines???? The guy had an hour inside while cops did nothing. Someone could do more damage using a hammer or rock with that much uninterrupted time.
Why don’t we ban alcohol first since it kills more people than guns a year and is legally accessible at almost every grocery store and had station?
Are you serious? They want to blame what happened in Uvalde on High Cap mags? Let me tell you something….. With the amount of time he gunman had he could have used a slingshot and done just as much damage. The local law enforcement failed and they are the ones with blood on their hands. Take their High Cap Mags away as they don't intend to use them anyways. This is total deception at it's finest.
nice, finally, we need responsible gun owners, not irresponsible ones.

I would like to see that 300 round magazine Brandon/biden keeps talking about
How about idiot reform . I assume when Russia & China invade , Biden and the Democrats will twerk them into submission .
"GUN REFORM BILL" is much a better word than "GUN CONTROL BILL"… it is like "Global Warming" before, now it is "Climate Change"… but with the same meaning, purpose, and intention…
Don't ban my dirty magazines
Guns don't kill !!! Sick people do !!! Don't ban guns ! Ban sick people and access to them
No. What happened in Uvalde is WHY WE NEED AN UNRESTRICTED 2ND AMENDMENT.
You can't stop crazy. If you ban AR's, the whole country is in danger. Why is it that Ukraine needs weapons now?
Any republican that supports any new gun laws will be out of a job soon. No blue laws, nothing!! Or good bye!!
What a load of garbage. Thousands of people are killed in cars every year are you going to limit the size or capacity of vehicles?
1) Columbine happened during the Clinton gun ban. A mass shooting carried out by two teenagers that weren't even old enough to own a firearm. 2) An AR-15, which fires the 5.56mm NATO/.223 Remington round, doesn't "pulverize" anyone. You can ask anyone who's served in the military about that. Don't fall for these peoples creative rhetoric. Politicians, the Media, and Celebrities like to use terms and words that stir emotion. We should never make decisions based off emotion. 3) People need to STOP getting their political and life advise from celebrities!!!! 4) The citizens of Australia are fighting to get their gun rights back, because of frequent home invasions and violent attacks. The criminals know the likelihood of an innocent Australian citizen having a firearm is low. 5) Realize what's happening. Politicians use tragedy to push their own agendas. The very things they're trying to ban, they are protected by. Their fancy security owns these same things that they are trying to ban. Ask them this: Why is it okay for your private security or your private military to own these, but you don't want law abiding citizens to have them? Because these politicians and celebrities believe they are better/more important than the rest of us. STOP LISTENING TO THESE CELEBRITIES. Just because a celebrity played a genius in your favorite movie, doesn't make them one in real life!!!!!!! Just because some IDIOTS decide to hurt a bunch of people, doesn't mean that us (real law abiding people) are going to do the same. It's not fair to punish the many, based off the actions of the few.
If you take away guns, maniacs will resort to bombs…. And trust me, you don't want to deal with bombs.
Nothing they do is gonna change anything
Biden said magazines hold 300 rounds lol. What a fool.
Lucretia Hughes, you a real one! ðŸ‘ÂÂðŸÂ¼
Illegitimate regime installed by stolen election trying to pass unconstitutional laws. Nope, will not comply. Good luck trying to take them.
All your doing is making the bad guys commit more and more crimes to make sure you assholes ban weapons from everyone so that the bad guys don't have to worry about being shot back at while they commit crimes …liptard m, fers
MURDER IS ILLEGAL💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩‼ï¸ÂÂ‼ï¸ÂÂ‼ï¸ÂÂ‼ï¸ÂÂ
Vote out all corporate owned, psychopathic murderering politicians, regardless of party effiliation.
These people need to read the 2nd amendment. Shall Not be infringed. We have to protect our kids, not by taking away Law abiding citizens rights to defend themselves. The killer could have used many other ways to kill, these Anti Gun people will never admit that. Democratic cities have the highest murder numbers with strictest gun laws in America. Never listen to people who tell you, you can't have guns while they have armed security. Matthew McConaughey and celebrities aren't Part of everyday society. We can't stop Drugs, people or criminals from crossing our borders and selling in the states, Gun control will only create a Black market for guns. Felons already don't have the right to buy guns.
Who’s going to come take them soy boys? You can’t do a push up, but thin your going to take anything from us? Say when….
So as usual under the demo-rats, everyone is punished for the doings of criminals.
