  1. he wasn't really a broadcaster… he was like, your uncle. an uncle that played ball either in high school, college or the pros… and was just a wiz at the game. we sat around every sunday and watched him as he broke the game down, but also cheered, exploded with excitement and always had a smart (or smart ass) thing to say that either made us smile or laugh… he was a fan of football like the rest of us, and that smile was infectious. he made football fun for me to watch as just a kid… he was a treasure of the game.

  2. There was an honest sincerity about John Madden which he wore on his sleeve. A one of a kind which will be missed. As there will never be another. RIP John. "Boom"

  3. 🐐🐐🐐🐐🙏🏾❤️

  4. Player to coach to broadcaster didn't even mention the video game and from comments I've seen that's all some people know about. 🙄

  5. I mourn the loss of John Madden. I loved to watch and listen to him. No matter what I was doing, if I heard John Madden talking I stopped and listened. I watched football just so I could see Madden. What a loss to the world of football and sports in general. There will never be another. 1 of a kind. Thanks for the memories. Rip Sir…🏈❤

  6. More important than being a great player, coach, and broadcaster, he was a great human being. By all accounts I've seen, he was never mean to anyone, would stop and talk to strangers, fans, as if they were friends. God bless you, John Madden.

  7. RIP Coach Madden. I always felt that there should have been a parody video game series of Madden called "Mad Dog" where a pit bull or rottweiler would come pee on a player's leg anytime he made a boneheaded mistake like a fumble or dropped pass.

  8. John Madden made the game of football understandable for the every day person but he was the most knowledgeable football man around We will miss a great man rest in peace Mr. Madden.
