Hiker tries to scare away bear following her

1. She probably had some previous training by trying to walk to the restroom in the local "meat market".

14. I have dealt with many wild black bears, both at the hotel I work at and in the forest. I don't carry bear spray, but I do carry a heavy duty sword cane I refer to as 'my bear sticker'. I've been followed/stalked by bears like this many times. I just pop out the sword and stand my ground, let the bear know that I already have one bear rug, but certainly wouldn't mind another one. The bear always backs off. Disclaimer: this is for BLACK bears only! I would be very concerned if it were a brown bear, and praying to the Lord to forgive my sins if it were a polar bear.
