9. When I see things like this happen, it really concerns me that Americans and companies in general are so willing to overlook important details of possible risks. Immediately I think of climate change and other looming disasters that we have yet to face, and also I worry how many other buildings are actually up to code. It’s time to wake up! This could have been easily prevented, but instead the essence of profit came before human life. I would be surprised if they found anyone alive in there… I feel so much compassion for the victims and the families.

16. The Republicans have a history of giving their donor base free rein to create the Republican agenda which usually means perpetual tax cuts and deregulation along with leaving it to up to corporations to decide what fixes they will make as well as conducting their own oversight.
    We saw it with Deep Horizon and Shell Oil in the Gulf, the Katrina Levees in New Orleans and PP & G in California as only a few of the vast # of failures. Always the cry of poverty by both the Party and the corporations as they do everything on the cheap that involves public safety and the common good.
    This has been allowed to go on for decades with meager budgets all over the country because heaven forbid our politicians/corporations and the superrich be expected to pay their fair share of taxes to provide for and protect the rest of us.
    The fight for Infrastructure spending goes on right now on in Congress as Mitch and his boys do their best to block every effort to create the budget needed to actually fix our crumbling infrastructure and undo the politics that have perpetuated the failures.
    Meanwhile, the heartbreak continues for the victims and families in Florida and elsewhere and our heroic first responders continue to save lives even as they are neglected when budget time rolls around. They and we deserve better. Remember them when it comes time to choose who will represent us in the next election. Thoughts and prayers of course but action on their behalf and ours is the ultimate fix.

17. Problem reaction solution. Never let any crisis go to waste..they want the deaths. So there's no settlements from lawsuits. Intentional delayed response rescue team, these companies and talking heads all have alternative motives, none of which are confounded in moral high ground. Yah Bless.

27. A TERRIBLE incident. Who will not give living in that, or any other sea coast high rise, a second reasoning of safety. In the future, watch condo property owners NOW put into purchase documents they cannot be held accountable/sued, if this type of situation occurs. A LLC of sorts. Also, a observation, this Mayor, Daniella Levine, is not skilled at this type of announcement. She presents it like a rehearsing for a presentation in front of a mirror at an actors studio struggling to remember what the rehearsed lines were. Eyes looking upward above head view while presenting, eyes emotionally(?) closing tightly when announcing "another body discovered". While this observation may seem trite, its also a sign of something more. A text book case of asking "what is she really like when not in front of a microphone ?".
