This is totally stupid, guys. This petition was filed by a Tesla-stock short-seller — somebody who has set himself up to monetarily profit from Tesla’s stock going down. Anybody can file such a petition, and they do get filed all the time. As yet at least, Tesla is not under investigation.

  2. I would never discredit any individual that claims this happened to them. My biggest concern is that these "complaints" are not actually from real people. I wouldn't put it past the big auto makers to attack Tesla with made up allegations to try and hurt their rapidly increasing success. Tesla is a major threat to Big Oil and to all of the current auto manufacturers who aren't willing to face the reality of changing times and begin to invest the resources necessary to compete with an ever expanding market. There is no doubt in my mind that the universes reliance upon fossil fuels for automotive use will steadily decline over the next few decades. The big auto makers have got to get on track with technology and begin to face the reality that gasoline engines have a shelf life that may be expiring sooner rather than later.

  3. China’s state-run newspaper, the Global Times published an article recently titled “Can China copy ‘iPhone model’ with Tesla?” in which the communist state-run newspaper questions if Tesla’s latest move into China will allow the country to dominate the electric car manufacturing market as Apple’s use of Foxconn factories has allowed it to dominate the smartphone manufacturing industry.

  4. telsa is the "most amrecan thing" that real americans are against …. go figure … built in america .. be proud of it .. it is changing the world !!! yes the price will be paid …and some fat stummics will become a little less fat ..

  5. yeah .. i just want to say ..all the cars that tesla make are ..eh… they are bad !!! tesla is evil .. pray to god not tesla !!!

  6. Bruh they hit the forward pedal not the brake, the same thing happened with Toyota people hit the forward instead of the brakes why would they go forward if they slammed the brakes bruh they slammed the forward pedal

  7. The media needs a diligent twelve year old to do their fact checking. They work cheap. From what I have read on the guy that sent the complaint to the feds that he was a Tesla short seller.

The total number of cars involved verse the ones affected by the so called S. E. S make Tesla safer statistically speaking then your average car on the road. Also It wouldn't take your average twelve year old much time Googling to find that every time there was a multi year investigation of this(Audi – Toyota) it was decided that people had there foot on the wrong peddle. So if you don't mind looking stupid there are some brand new big foot sightings you can talk about earnestly as if they had validity.

  8. Are your fact checkers taking a leave of absence? ABC News needs to get thir shit together and stop filling people's heads with bullshit stories like this one.

  9. Tesla sheep should hold their electric horses. EVs are the future. Tesla is the leader. If there are genuine complaints, detailed investigation is a must. Tesla is not foolproof. That said, Tesla has to succeed. Its needed. But with all safety issues consistently taken care of.

  10. This story just pumps the accusation by a short seller. The truth is that vehicle logs show in each case the driver was pressing the accelerator. This is simply pedal misapplication, human error, which happens in a small percentage with every car. Tesla has done something about this by adding obstacle-aware acceleration which prevents the car from hitting an object that the car detects.

  11. After this investigation. I wonder if the feds will look into the fact that the person who submitted the request is a Tesla Short Trying to influence the stock price.

  12. Some drivers in haste mistakenly step on the accelerator instead of the brake. Unfortunately, that’s long been true. And unfortunately nowadays, some reporters in haste mistakenly parrot unsubstantiated claims instead of carefully investigating. For shame, ABC News.
