1. This happened to me. I use multifactor plus a few other things. They reset my email password to gain access to a crypto account. The 'high security password from t mobile' is useless. Their system showed my password and account were accessed from different stores accross the country when they were closed. Changed my number. And closed all accounts since I sold everything anyway.

12. You are missing the point. It's not multifactor authentication on the device that matters, if the person uses a sim in another device. It's multifactor authentication on the account.

    And that's also part of the problem, if the multifactor incolves sending a text to your phone. That's why they are doing a sim swap in the first place. It's so they can get text messages for 2FA.

    Having an authentication app instead of using a text message helps. Unfortunately, the carrier for your phone account would have to support it.

    T-Mobile is oblivious to the concept. They allow the use of an authentication app, but it's an additional alternative, not instead of a text message. They give no way of disallowing a text message for 2FA so the app doesn't help.

    Make sure to use a password that is nothing like any that you use for anything else. It can't hurt to complain to T-Mobile that they need to get their act together.
