  1. This is why I keep an eye out for little ones, until I see their parents, I don't let them out of my sight till I know they're safe. I never had kids but they're precious.

  2. I know taking care of a child is not an easy task and can be very tiring, but that's not a reasonable excuse to just leave them alone in an AIRPORT.

  3. UPDATE: CHARGES DROPPED, FAMILY SUES CITY. The stupid mother was arrested for Child Neglect, but the charges were dismissed.
Soon after, she has filed a lawsuit against the City of Charlotte, the airport, airport security, Charlotte Police, and the escalator manufacturer.

  4. Maybe don't make an airport a death trap when its literally a high traffic area for people and what about airport security? Nobody patrolled that escalator for a whole hour? Okay TSA. I see you. But yeah pin it all on the jet lagged mom. Not saying shes right, but there's a lot more issues here then an absent mother because any kid can ditch a parent. Its a parents biggest fear and if it's that easy for a kid to die in an airport I'm looking harder at the airport than the parent.

  5. OMG!!! The mom, Jitteria Lightner is suing the airport, the city and the escalator company for not being safe enough 😩

  6. This is so sad. Useless mother and the rest of us know if we intervene we'll get chewed out. One time I'm sitting at Brent Cross, (a mall,) and I see a toddler in a buggy unattended in the electrical department at a big store. I'm watching for 10 minutes, no one comes. When my friend joins me we go over and see the kid is looking a bit teary. A staff member comes over and we look for a parent but find no one so security comes. Just as the kid starts bawling her eyes out up rushes the mother who explained that she was eating at the cafe outside the store and parked her kid there to "watch TV." She only came running when she heard her cry. I said I could've kidnapped your kid lady and she was all, "no I was watching." Obviously she wasnt or she wouldve come when she saw us all round her kid!! Just wanted her food in peace I guess. Disgusting. Told me to worry about my own kids and mind my business. Smfh.

  7. Even if you’re sitting 10-15 feet away that’s still awful and inexcusable. If you don’t want to be a parent don’t have kids

  8. My parents never gave me that much freedom 😒 like ever! But some parents are to care free or exhausted too take care of children
