The delivery industry is booming during the pandemic, but many of its workers are struggling and fighting for essential rights.

@abcnews 😱Wow I just saw a two year old video from ABC News today here on YouTube, and still got annoying reminder from George Stephanopoulos to like and subscribe. Why? Why oh why is it stupid reminder at the end of every single ABC News YouTube video? That loud shocking piano chord is so unpleasant to hear🤯👂 just when you finish watching an interesting ABC News video then bang💥that loud cord has to be played.🤷ðŸÂ»🤦ðŸÂ» your editor should be fired for making us hear that at the end of every video.🥴🙄
the income gap is the computer geeks at sylicon valley are making bank working in offices, and the delivery drivers make table scraps, managers and supervisors need to make less.
As of 2/1/21 Nighttime delivery drivers for Jason's Deli were given little to no notice that Doordash would handle deliveries after 3pm. People that had been with the company for years had their hard earned jobs pulled out from underneath them.
HUNTERS LAPTOP. ??? 🇺🇸
United Slaves of America…
Uber is a side hustle or a second job. Its just like this: if you can't afford New York then don't live there or if you can't pay rent then find another job or switch jobs. Find a new or another job.
They should post his cashapp or something this awful. Can’t these drivers form a Llc or something since there independent contractors
I live in New York City. Do I still have the right to not get nearly plowed onto the sidewalk by a delivery driver on bike who never heard of a street?!?
I would just get fed up and take their order for myself, honestly screw those people
There’s also another conversation that never happens in regards to this which is we need to change the tax law to also protect these workers and the companies that have independent contractors should be taxed at a higher level as well because they’re not paying any taxes on their workers if they’re all independent contractors.
Where does circle back to ? Not us but the companies the policies. Don't blame the working class blame the people exploiting the working class.
I want 50 an hour
I give great tips. They deserve it.
Is this America? It looks like a 3rd world country….
Wait a minute
I'm not saying pay & insurance issues are to be ignored. I am saying that the phrase 'unsung heroes' is being misused as a MF right now. Congratulations on your continued employment during the pandemic.
She is right about the low pay. After all the fees added, it’s no wonder drivers don’t receive much of a tip. Drivers count on them. If more isn’t done soon, I don’t see how these platforms will continue. A lot of drivers work full time. The wear and tear (and depreciation) on the car, gas, and bills & taxes are paid with the ridiculous amounts they receive. It’s disheartening in an already currently disheartened world.
If you don’t believe me, feel free to try it out sometime.

Gotta invest in depends. A little relief is better than nothing.
Get a different job then
Give them EQUAL RIGHTS!! ✌💜

Heroes? That term is so loosely applied these days. Everybody's a hero, even when they're doing their job, and making money. That's why they did it! Not because of some extraordinary Act of heroism. Get real. I am a delivery worker
This is just heartbreaking sad. Especially that part where he gets the $3.75 delivery order….come on that is just ridiculous, ordering something that costs less than $4.00 for a delivery.
First off no one is forcing them to work for these scam delivery services.
You wonder why they tip next to nothing, fees fees fees!
Two day strike would get them what they deserve. Then destroy the scabs.
I am really sorry for all these people. I don't even bother to wake up if I don't make at least £200 per day.
Yup I deliver food on my scooter. It's a struggle
If delivery workers salaried with benefits, half would lose their jobs.
Who is making Covid 19?
Welcome to America
I'm an Uber Eats driver and doing that as main source of income. Currently my main concern is the higher risk of exposer to the pandimedic and my wanting to be vaccinated. My risk is just as high if not more than a tradition server or host in a resturant.
If the job and pay sucks so bad, why not try and better yourself? I have an idea, start your own restaurant business and put your money where your mouth is.
1099's get shafted always shoot for W2 in pace of. You end up paying employers taxes plus you're own taxes.
