Dayton official describes devastation of tornado strike

1. It blows my mind that there was only one fatality. Homes were wiped out just down the road from us.

2. No BS i Saw the Dayton tornado while making 3rd shift deliveries. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen

3. I live in Harrison Township. Took the whole garage but only ripped the shingles off the house. Pretty lucky.

5. When you see in movies that there's constant lightning during such an event it's true. It was like the sun was up. All you saw was light with flashes of darkness.

19. It was the scariest night of my life. Me and my family are from Arizona and had never been in a tornado warning before. Our neighbors came and got us and rushed to there basement. All I could think was I had to protect my baby brother. I just covered him with my body for hours while tornado after tornado touched down. The tornado skipped us and I can’t thank God enough. We had no power or water for almost two weeks. I never wanna go through that again.

27. There is an episode of The Twilight Zone where people were going about their normal routines for the days leading up to what appeared to be an alien invasion. Only one man thought enough of himself and his family to build a bomb shelter..

    It maybe necessary to build a physical bomb shelter but that wasn't the key.
    There is something else you must build in order to survive these calamities that the Divine is placing on us!!!
