36. I am liberal and I am vaccinated. Both of those are personal choices that I made for myself. I have a problem with the ethics of vaccination mandates. I think strong-arming an entire population of free people to lay aside their own free will to choose whether or not to be vaccinated puts us into some very dangerous waters. Furthermore, allowing employers, schools, and public establishments to serve as police, judge, and jury is a very dangerous proposition. Allowing an entity like a corporation, business, school, or public establishment to require me to forfeit all privacy related to one's medical/mental health and closely held (religious) beliefs just feels wrong. I have no case law to point to — I am not going to even bother to do the research – I am sure many are already on it or already done it – but I just think that most people would agree that our Constitution goes out of its way to establish personal protections to privacy to ward off an overreaching government. I think we have arrived at the very doorstep of an overreaching government.
    
    I know that some will argue – the mandate is only in place to improve the health of the nation. If that be the case, then ask yourself this — If the government were so keen on preserving health then why is there such a battle to provide universal healthcare to all? Why doesn't the government crack down on employers who exploit, underpay and create dangerous work conditions for workers? Why can you buy a pack a cigarettes in any pharmacy or gas station in America? Why is there 1 fast food restaurant per every 1.8 miles of federal highway? I think anyone who fully supports the mandates is not looking deeply enough at the reasoning and ramifications of these mandates. Its my opinion that you are being exploited – used — nothing more than a naïve puppet for the top 1% – the billionaires, the brokerage firms, the bankers, and the politicians who's pockets are lined with cash by those types. The real reason vaccination mandates are being discussed, is because the United States is most interested in its GDP. Corporations want growth and year over year profits. And GDP and year over year profits are hard to maintain if your country is looking down the barrel of another year of COVID disruption. Lastly, we do not need to give the ultra-conservatives any additional fuel or ideas on how to topple some of the landmarks of United States liberal thought. These mandates put us on a very slippery slope and the other side of the aisle will wait patiently and then use it against us — It will backfire and it will be used as a way to undermine and erode the foundations of what we might call the liberal agenda.
