Notice the man being pulled out of the water isn't wearing a life jacket, that is telling me a lot about why most of the crew is missing, the Captain should have had them dressed and ready to hit the water, I see a failure in command. I worked oilfield as a Captain and I know they demand boats run when they shouldn't and force Captains to make bad calls or "get run off". It's like the BP rig, they won't stop because it would cost the company money and someone would lose his job. My heart goes out to those who paid the price for this bad judgment call. Place the blame at the feet of the man who sent these men out.

4. Say, say they're working and the stilts are down, and there is an explosion or fire emergency, how does the crew escape? On a self-enclosed lifeboat? If there are self-enclosed (buoyant) lifeboats, why weren't non-essential personnel not kitted and loaded up in one, in case there was a need to bail? Answer, there was likely no lifeboat OR no prep in case they had to abandon ship. This is what's called analyzing failure modes. Everyone laughs at OSHA and safety regs until an accident happens and people don't come home. I'm an IT guy, BTW.

23. Optimism is a virtue for all those in the rescue services. It is a uniform that represents no aggression, no wicked past, and is repescted by all of us unequivocally. Coast guard, EMT's, Fire Department, Mountain Rescue etc.

    These are the most patriotic badges to wear on your arm, these are the people protecting America.

    These guys WILL find all of these people.
