Chappelle Backlash Continues Over Transgender Jokes

1. Imagen how priviledged you have to be if a comedian who makes a joke about your gender is your biggest problem. When became woke people feelings more important than starving childrens or war.

3. So if Chappelle thinks the situation of trans people is inherently "funny", how would it be if someone said that the dilemna of a black person in the deep South in the 1930's was "funny"?

26. If this is what the trans/LGBTQ+ community aims to promote than I withdraw my support for them. I have no problem with the LGBTQ community, everyone has the right to love. However, this form of backlash from the community clearly lacks acceptance, acceptance in the form of art.

29. Comedy is not a political platform, it is a craft that aims to inspire laughter, regardless of the subject matter. Every other group, race, ethnicity, and community has been subjected to jokes. What makes joking on the trans community any different and any more offensive than the others that have had jokes made upon them in the past? Heck, this whole debate is a joke!

30. definitely have gone back and forth on this subject in my mind and w friends. IMO i dont think anyone is "wrong" in regard to chappelle's stand up specials vs the trans community. i think the complaints seem to be more about the timing and taste of the content. chappelle has great points. the trans community has a right to feel like they don't need anything else hurting them in their struggles. it's good that these conversations are happening, because they bring light to an otherwise invisible subject.
