‘Clear similarities’ between Ethiopian, Lion Air crashes: Ethiopia’s transport minister

Flight data from last week’s deadly Ethiopian Airlines crash showed “clear similarities” with another fatal crash that involved Boeing’s 737 Max 8 aircraft, Ethiopia’s transport minister said Sunday.

Dagmawit Moges told journalists flight recorder data showed links between the crashes of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on March 10 and Lion Air Flight 610 in October, according to the Associated Press.

Moges didn’t offer up specific details to support her claim, but she did say the government would release a detailed report within a month or so.

  1. the Plane crash so hard that it almost look like a pile of garbage
no offend though it still really sad that boeing try everything they can to hide how their new plane system are operating and lead to this crash

  2. I feel like they should have a "disable stall prevention"button or something like that with a safety cover so accidents like this don't happen. Even if the safety check is successful, you can never be too safe.

  3. "But if there are similarities" Then he proceeds to ask, why the panes are allowed to fly.
He states that there are questions, then comments as if there are now facts. Typical news media making facts up. Haste is more important than facts.

  4. So far it's all speculation and Boeing is being used as an scapegoat. Yes, the aircraft is indeed unstable and it is designed like that, deliberately. Just like the Euro Fighter Typhoon, the greatest war plane ever made, still in operation. THAT is incredibly unstable and it's praised for being such an incredible flying machine.
It is strange that both planes that crashed were the same model. But we need to take into account that this is the best-selling plane and it's likely that the most sold plane will crash more. Just like it's more likely that you'll se a Ford Taurus crashing than you'll see a Ferrari crashing.
Stop the hysteria – for now. We don't know anything yet.

  5. What the hell kind of unprofessional aviation terminology is this: "BREAK BREAK….REQUEST BACK TO HOME" ? And why this guy flying revenue with a 200 hour copilot?

  6. indonesian and ethiopian and some other counties pilots is real shit ,they're deserve old md80 or dc8 models to get enough knowledge about aerodynamic and manuals ,nothing interesting in CVR or Data ,only panic panic panic and stuck in situation, only upgrade needed for pilots in some airlines ,enough death

  7. Yes, the design of this plane is faulty. From what I understand, it's not aerodynamically stable because of the placement of the engines in relation to the wings. This is why they installed these 'band-aids' in the first place. Software update or not, I am never getting on a 737 Max 8 or 9 unless they redesign and rebuild the entire structure of the airplane.

  8. The crash is not even a normal crash and it leads the family to bury empty coffin since the bodies are into pieces. I dont have words the selfinshness of boeing and will never trust fly with thier plane.

  9. I want to advice all pilots in the world learn how to fly 737 Max 8 manually. Don't depend on computers too much. A good flying plane not suppose to crash. I'm very sorry for the victims and their families. Boeing needs to pay for pain and suffering to the families.

  10. Why on earth did they not inform and train the pilots on the new gadget. 59 min on an ipad….really…..I'm never flying again….

  11. The FAA did not "ground the fleet world wide".Quite opposite, the FAA was the LAST aviation organization in the world to suspend flights of MAX. Ethiopian Airlines bypassed the FAA and sent the black boxes to France.
