  1. Tesla Fire, Show-Off <OR> Theories: 1) Ego deprived driver (D) has need to prove himself to his skeptical friend (F).
    2) After setting Autopilot navigation & 5 mph cruise speed, then moving to the rear (per CR's "hack"), D tells passenger seated F to increase the cruising speed
    3) When F only increases speed slightly, D demands more speed
    4) F either mistakenly, &/or caused by a road bump, increases cruise speed to high (50+) immediately throwing both back into their seats
    5) The crash happens before Autopilot times out on driver presence alerts &/or D nor F can intervene

    <OR> F panicked & initiated the crash.

<OR> Car crashed, doors jammed, & driver scrambled to back in failed attempt to escape.

So sad, however the proven outcome!

    Prevention measures:

    a) OTA update to immediately prompt for driver presence when the cruising speed is increased by >5 mph & safely pull to roadside, if not acknowledged
    b) Install sunglasses penetrating cameras to validate driver alertness (likely redundant, but may be needed to placate media generated FUD)
    c) Ensure doors mechanically unlock upon abnormal loss of power

  2. We should not depend on technology more than requirement.
Things like self driving car is to make people lazy..and make public over dependent on technology.
So that big tech companies can make profit out of it.

  3. We're having the same problem with the batteries that power electric cars in the UK. The Fire Service couldn't get the battery on one involved in an accident to stop reigniting, so followed the recovery truck back to their depot where the burnt out car was placed in a large skip full of water. I'm all for green energy, but it needs to be safe.

  4. In the picture it looks like the car is just driven up to the tree and then the battery is punctured or something and it is burned and blazed it doesn't look like I had any physical damage to cause this accident I suspect foul Play to twist and manipulate market prices

  5. In my opinion you are a bunch of losers!
Why behave sm a bunch of brainless people?
There's a reason why normally intelligent people do not trust you.

  6. I have warned people this could happen. This is a prime example of why self driving cars should be outlawed. In fact all cars should have a dead man switch where the moment a driver stops controlling their vehicle the motor shuts off and a message sent to the nearest 911 dispatcher.

  7. NBC u guys are garbage. 30000 gallons of water? Where do you get this garbage?

I really hope Tesla sue NBC for making click bait news. Holy cow. Go read what the fire chief released on what happened. 30000 gallons?

Holy click bait garbage of a so called news reporting NBC has turned out to be.

Wow, I'm never going to believe a word that comes out of this clown show.

  8. This car didn’t have FSD and auto pilot wasn’t even engaged. There’s more to this story.

  9. The water didn't put out the fire, the battery simply stopped exploding on their own. You need special extinguishing agents for metal fires.

  10. 🙏🙏🙏

  11. One of few simple ways to solve the Tesla-S Empty Seat problem.

Check if the vehecle has a standard twin airbag recognition sensors underneath both front seats, which activates when ignition is turned on & front passengers are settled into their seats. Example in a KIA if an accident occured & only a driver is present, only the driver side will deploy, not the passenger, unless the vehicle damage is much greater.

Overall: Since nobody was found in the driver's seat the airbag did not deploy. If it did deploy most likely caused by the firing expansion of heat from the inferno.
