4. I just read the New York Mag article, "Why Did Keisha Lance Bottoms Quit." It appears she was, while trying to strike a balance, caught in the middle of polarizing "pick-a-side" politics! Having to let young protesters know that Atlanta is not the city to tear up; that Black people built that town. And another side that wanting to crack down on crime, by any means, even if it meant innocent folk affected. And just like David Dinkins, here in New York, decades ago, having to deal with a mostly white Staten Island borough secession talk, she had to respond to Buckhead wanting out of Atlanta! Tough situation for her. My only four-day stay, in ATL, I found the city absolutely remarkable; with every doggone establishment I frequented being Black owned! My prayers are for the continued growth of Atlanta, and to get through its challenges!
