It’s been one year since 2,500 tons of ammonium nitrate detonated in Beirut’s port. Residents blame government inaction for this, as well as skyrocketing inflation, lack of medicine and unemployment.

I was watching this with my father yesterday before he travel back to his home to Beirut and was explaining me the situation after the blast he was crying and it was my first time I see my father cry, I can't imagine the pain of the parents to see their kids dead or the other way around, took them 1 year to recover the house from furniture walls and to buy new windows and doors, RIP to all who lost their loved ones.
Late 1970s
I REMEMBER IN 1970 WHEN I WAS A CENTRAL BANK FX ADVISER ( NOT TO LEBANON) THAT LEBANESE POUND HAD DISTINCTION OF BEING 100 PCT. BACKED BY GOLD.
I guess that is all stashed away now in private vaults beneath the Bahnhofstrasse !
Amazing casualties were so low.one is too many, but an explosion that size in a busy city could of been much worse, casualties wise.so much devastation.
People of Lebanon make Lebanon beautiful
You can not compare them to Lebanese in Australia , not at all
Talk about a totally inept government. And still no one has been prosecuted.
The Lebanese people, like the rest of the world, don't have money, what they have is worthless fiat paper currency. Real money has intrinsic value. They have monopoly currency. Paper and electronic currency have no value of themselves, only what is ascribed to them by blind belief. They are intrinsically valueless. Actual money has a value because it is rare, useful, non perishable, and costs great energy to create. Gold and silver represent the energy they cost to mine and their rarity. This is why we chose them as money 5000 yesrs ago. Will we not learn before the very same happens to our facsimile currency. US dollar has lost over 95% in the last 50 years since going of the Gold convertibility and went off bi-metal Silver in the late 1870's. A bi-metal system disciplines human nature to a fixed limited useful resource as money and the coinage should have no ascribed value, only a fixed weight, allowing its percived value to float comparatively to productivity, as it will anyway There is no other way to save humans from human nature IMHO.
Brethren Run from Lebanon ðŸÂÂÆ’
It was not left there to rot, it was placed there just like the bricks placed in the USA for rioters.
It is a WORLD RESET and they want to wipe out all nations economies world wide.
They do not want individual people with individual religions and individual dreams.
They feed the corruption and drive division and then hand them what they need to destroy.
People cannot grasp how corrupt Lebanon politicians are
Was she ok?
Damn
Same things are happening in India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 now a days in PM modi governance
A shitty country. With corrupted people in power. With barely any decent infrastructure. An invitation for disaster.

Man I wish I spoke a second language half as well as these people speak English
can we calibrate how beautiful Lebanese woman in this video. idk is that eyelash 4real?
😂😂
People have no idea. The Christians in Lebanon have been suffering from Genocide for 50 years. All you bleeding hearts are funny. At independence Lebanon was 70% Christian. Then the GENOCIDE has been killing them ever since. Yet now I'm supposed to feel bad for Lebanon? LOL anyone like me, who is Christian, understands what Genocide means. So all you stupid Westerners keep funneling money into a hole where Christians die. Wake up! Life isn't prayers and loll pops when you face GENOCIDE, as a Christian, everyday!
I hope the best for all people that have to suffer from this crisis in Beriut
Hazbullah trying to collapse lebanon faster for Iran….poor people. May they have peace one day
I am opposed to the $100 million U.S. aid package for Lebanon. The government of Lebanon is responsible for controlling its territory and stopping attacks on Israel. There should be no aid for Lebanon so long as Lebanon allows Hezbollah to operate within its borders.

I wanted to go this year but the currency disaster … i'll wait. My fear is either a civil war or endless bombings out of frustration
Israel and Hezbollah are behind the explosion
Imagine Nuclear war
🇱🇧🇱🇧ðŸ™ÂÂðŸÂ»
You better be nice to Israel your neighbour, and their nice to you.
One giant IED. Reminds me of 9/11, chaos for so long. It's a traumatic experience for a country as a people

The world needs healing. People must love one another. We are either going to live in unity and love together or die together in destruction and dealth.
Garentee investment banks and world bank are there buying up property. With no remorse. GREEDY PEOPLE LOVE HUMAN SUFFERING AND DISASTERS.
Heartbreaking in Lebanon these days. It’s a whole year later after the terrible explosion! But it’s also a place that has so much going for it! (The ancient history and with an international seaport!! ) Yet, all around them are difficult conditions. My heart goes out to Lebanon.
