The eight history-making winners of the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee have coined a new term for themselves: octochamps.
“When this got announced, we weren’t expecting anything that could happen like octochamps,” Christopher Serrao, one of the eight champions crowned late Thursday night, said Friday on “Good Morning America.” “When it was announced, we were just so excited.”

I competed in the 2019 green country regional spelling bee, and let me tell you, it is the most suspenseful thing ever. I can't imagine being in the national spelling bee… it was fun rooting for these people though.

It doesn't surprise me that all of the winners except for the little girl pushed in the back or Indian! It's amazing to me what these children are accomplish. It's interesting also that all of my doctors are Indian by choice!
