  1. It makes sense that the parents were colder once Stephen was abducted, they were afraid. Such a terrible situation they all found themselves in. But Stephen was a hero.

  2. I think they should give the parents a break .They went through the kidnapping and then death of Steven and then find out their oldest son is a murderer. I can't imagine how anyone could survive just one of those events.I have read news articles about the. Staynors' and criticism of them as parents but we are all imperfect and have our faults .Few could go through what they have and come out unscathed.

  3. I’m from a small town called point arena not even 2 hours away from this this gives me very bad feelings about the whole town

  4. People who say so why he didnt leave? Are abusers themselves. Do you think a 7 year old who spent 7 years of his most important development years under the hand of an abuser. Who didnt know any different will just leave? It does not work that way. Many women were kidnapped way way older and stayed with the kidnapper for years. They break you and you think the outside is even more scare. The menendez were old enough to just leave but couldnt because they have spend their whole life being told that they will be killed if they try.

  5. He didn't leave because it's called Trauma bonding or terror bonding.. it's when someone like Steven starts to identify and bond with their capture and where was Steven going to go the monster who abducted him told Steven he had called Stevens parents they didn't want him any more..its a psychological attachment to the abductor to survive..its a terrible thing to say about an abducted child..

  7. Thank you for posting this. I was the private investigator for the Carrington family. Cary Stayner did not act alone. Several people were involved with the murders of Carole and Juli Sund, and Silvina Pelosso. Joie Armstrong was murdered by Cary, alone. The true story behind the murders is told in my book ULTIMATE PREY. https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Prey-Yosemite-Sightseer-Murders/dp/0985914408/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
