Today at MWC 2015, we played with the ZTE Grand S3. ZTE’s new flagship device lets users unlock their phones by looking at the front-facing camera. The cutting edge solution, called EyePrint ID, works by scanning unique vein patterns in the human eye.

The 2 best lock types for a phone is fingerprint sensor and this eye scan unlock. Cuz some other are just way too shitty.
Face unlock: people can just get a pic of you. (I've tried it before)
Code: people can just look at your phone.
Pattern: refer to code
I like this feature but it takes too long to scan. Seems like the technology needs more development but this is good for first gen. Maybe AC can test it out in real world
this fake retina unclock feature reminds me of when finger print sensor came out on iphone, japanese tested with their nipples, lol
Bezels are coming back in fashion yall….
So it's basically just faceunlock??
Wow. Takes super long to unlock.
Retina scanning? Huh, I would have thought they would go for the more robust iris scanning. If they're using IR illumination, it would work at night or in poor ambient illumination, though, which is a definite plus over Android's gimmicky Face Unlock.
Sounds great, but I'm calling bullshit until I see it tested in the real world!
Only face unlock…
Now the Chinese government is going to have our retina scans.
1:it would be beter if you didnt have to swipe down to use it
2: it takes me less time to unlock my phone whit a code then using thisÂÂÂ
I thinks this unlock method doesnt scan the Retina! It just is as gimicky as Faceunlock.
We are not at some Startrek Century, and this scanning looks like its just a prank.
but you can correct me if i'm wrong, with a description of how it works.
its a great feature but it seems like its still too raw. The processing is WAYYYY too slow
ZTE makes shitty phones, fuck that 1 dumb feature
I think Google should acquire the makers of this technology and use it to booster the Face Unlock feature already built into Android
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are officially in the future.
This is the dream feature I was waiting for.
Kinda gimmicky but still kinda cool
