Last week Apple announced iOS 15 and with it some new changes that opened up Facetime to Android. And that got me thinking, Will iMessage also come to Android?

  1. If it ever comes out, apple will try everything to make it feel as shitty for you as possible. So you probably are just able to send messages, pictures, audio etc, but none of the special stickers, bigger messages etc. It must constantly feel like you're missing out, like Androids "aren't powerful enough to run iMessage". Messages might also have a different color, just to show you're not using an iPhone. Just like FaceTime now. On Android you can now click a link to join, but it's in a browser and you cannot start a call yourself. Someone needs to have an apple device.

Apple is just shitty like that XD

  2. No. It won’t. If it did, there really would not be a reason for me to own an iPhone anymore

  3. Wait, you're the same writer I criticized for having the Apple Laptop front and center in the Google IO announcement video, right?
And now you're back with MORE Apple stuff?
AA needs to stop hiring iFanboys.

  4. But I don't want iMessage or facetime🤷‍♂️
Not much used here anyway even by people that have iPhones.. It's mostly a US thing so the rest of the world don't care😅
I don't really miss anything from iPhone actually🤷‍♂️ Felt like I did not truly own my phone because of iOS locked system.

  5. I tried Airmessage but the port forwarding was a little confusing and I couldn't get wemessage to work. So, I'm using bluebubbles. It requires no port forwarding and it's actually pretty good.

  6. I hate Facebook but whatsapp is pretty decent most people I know or talk to have it and it just works fine for me. But I feel that if android had a better native texting app across everything it would be a good thing. But Google absolutely trash at implementing anything.

  7. Meh. Who cares if it doesn't? And Facetime? That ship has sailed – I won't be using it – there are better platform independent options.

  8. What I want is iTunes for Android because the music and movies I've purchased when I had an iPhone and iPad I can only be used via Apple music. I'm never a fan of subscription based services thats why I buy songs and movies.

  9. Who gives a s*** about iMessage.

Nobody's using it in Europe or other parts of the world except US.

We're pretty fine without it, as a matter of fact there's too many better options than iMessage out there.

  10. I doubt they will, but if Apple does ever make iMessage accessible to Android, I will drop all other messaging platforms and switch to iMessage (and yes, I live in EU)

  11. No, it's one featurew that keeps many users on iPhone, they wouldn't give away that element of control. I am in the Uk and I use Android so i don't care, most people I know just use standard texts or communicate using Facebook Messenger
