  1. It's probably being used, but my guess it's stabilized in software, not hardware. It also seems that low light generates a bit of grain, which is a problem with most cameras, even the ones on most high end phones.
This is the stabilizer performance when on for the xperia Z. /watch?v=VjEWz6Qu1Tg

  2. what you guys don't know is that, first ite alpha software, meaning that its not finished yet and the lighting conditions are really low, I bet most other smartphone can't even pick up light in this area.

  3. 7mm???…finally some one understand 🙂

agree with you…I mean the focal lens and sensor will be smaller due to 7.9 mm thickness and still little bit scaled but the quality is great for this aspects…the stills are the same of Sony…this pixeld 100% crops with the same noise

see it in (phonearena) and read my last comment …I talked about the conditions and low light in CES…BTW if you see any other site provides another photo samples for xperia Z please tell me 🙂

  4. may be you are right

but honestly if you saw how the xperia S, T, V do in their videos…really sony but much work in this phone …but the still images is not as good as I excepted I saw them in phonearena, they are the same as sony's previous phones if you take crop zoomed 100% it's not good…still this is prototype and the light conditions and situations in CES are not the perfect for testing…we need to wait and see final product.

  5. Keep in mind the CONDITIONS here, people. Low light, considerable variation between sources etc. With that in mind, this beats pretty much anything bar the Lumia 920. Low light GS3 video is horrendous, especially for moving between sources.

It's a little soft (the standard non-HDR video is much sharper) but it keeps everything visible and, for a 7mm thick mobile phone, that's pretty impressive.

  6. I must just be easy to please because that looks perfectly fine to me. This generation is extremely spoiled. No offense, but having a 1080p video camera built n2 the same device u talk on is beyond amazing. Not to mention 50 million other things it does.

  7. It looks really good but it is very shaky. After seeing the Lumia 920's optical stabilization. I would expect the same to come from other phone makers.

  8. Its probably youtube just making it look uglier than it actually is.
Android central upload this video somewhere so we can see the raw footage!
