  1. Samsung really botched the software on this one. The original release with Android 2.3 was the best, everything after was slow and poorly integrated.

  2. first i bought a htc sensation then replaced with this because these phones' batteries didnt last until end of the day so I wanted to mod it to make double battery but sensation has antenna inside back cover so i switched to s2. they were about the same specs. apps were like 5-15MB back then. weixin/wechat was new knockoff of line messenger. Google was like "don't be evil". Foursquare was better. Facebook was single app. direct access to sdcard as usb storage was actually possible. samba file server was also working fine.

  3. I remember a friend of my parents having one at the time, it was love at the first sight. After looking around I opened the camera and was like 🤯 "THAT LOOKS LIKE LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDOW" 😂

  4. i've had the Galaxy s2 Plus , a mess of a phone :))) the whole touchwiz ui would slow down and get stuck after 2 weeks of usage , so i always had to reset to factory settings my phone every other week :)))

  5. I have old blackberry phones from 2012, they work smoother than most 4 year old android phones….bb10 os was ahead of it's time, the swipe gestures feels like 2020 phone…sad it died and has no native apps…

  6. I still have one 🤣😂🤣 i dont really use it anymore

  7. I used it as company phone for a few years hardware is not too bad LTE doesn't connect most of time but the worst is limited language support

  8. This was my first „real“ smartphone and man… Android was such a wild west back then. Back when you had to root your phone and load custom drivers just to run an app that wasn’t compatible with your chipset.

  9. I changed my iPhone 4 for the Galaxy S2, but when using continuously on Wifi, the S2 battery was very bad (its lasts about 3h30m vs 9h from iPhone 4), then I waited until iPhone 4s and changed the S2, at the time I don't feel need of a bigger screen, because when was at home, I play and browse on Web, using the iPad.

  10. I have it way bigger in my memories😂😂😂

  11. Galaxy s2 was solid for a good 3 years and the s5 was solid for 3 more years and the s8 was solid until just recently so the s21 may be solid for 5 years.

  12. For your information s2 doesn't have the 5g or 4g wifi and don't have the one Ui 3 soooooooooo whyyyy 😂

  13. This was my first real Android phone (HD2 was my first). Funny to think I went out of my way to buy an imported model because Exynos was the one to beat back then.

The screen was so impressive at the time, as was the weight and how thin it was. Great hardware but the software from Samsung was pretty bad back then.

Sold it for Galaxy Nexus because I had to have ICS on launch day since it looked so modern compared to older versions. I liked the Nexus more but the hardware on S2 was very impressive.

  14. Problem with most of them is the storage, they used so crappy storage, that the storage cells degraded so hard that my S2+ is like in the kilobyte range of storage speed, completely unusable

  15. I remember when my best mate thought that my S2 was huge because he had an iPhone 4. And today he has a 12 Pro Max and I have the Pro non max lmao, times changes
