The new Raspberry Pi Zero is small, elegant and cheap. At just $5 this board brings you desktop Linux with 512MB of RAM and a VideoCore IV GPU.

  1. So a review would entail showing us how you plug connect it all up; showing how you do that and actually demo it. You have a lovely head and all that but this could have been a pod cast.

  2. Pi would be great to put inside an old non working sinclair ZX81. As practical hand held computer though, Pi still can't compete with zillions of old used android phones out here, many of which can be bootloader unlocked and loaded with custom roms.

  3. I've done a headless setup, just by adding a wpa_supplicant.conf file in the /boot directory. However, at the time of this video, there was actually no need to create an empty file called "ssh" in the same directory. Now, for some security reasons, we have to create it. Nice video. This five dollar (seven hundred INR) can do wonders really! But for now, I'm just planning to create a new micro-kernel called Rusteze for it, using the Rust programming langauge.

  4. The only computer worth $5 that you will never be able to buy for just $5, and if I'm wrong, just send me the link so that I can buy at that price.

  5. Why are so many idiots like this guy lying about the price? The Pi Zero is way over priced at $22 on Amazon for something that does almost nothing! You have to use a POWERED USB port to get a WiFi adapter to work then it's so slow that it takes several minutes just to open a webpage!

  6. Following add on are one of the mus haves for Raspberry Pi Zero

    1. Hubpixed – Adds four USB Hubs – No wiring needed
    2. HubPiWi – Adds three USB ports and a Wifi – No wiring needed
    3. HubPiWi Blue – Adds three USB ports a Wifi and a bluetooth- No wiring needed

  7. Its not really 5$ tho when u factor in shipping, but its still like 8-10$
For canadians it winds up being like 20$ thats how much it costed me to get mine. As i am building a Mini NES Retropie Kit for use of NES/SNES/Genesis/and Turbo 16 games. entire shit will probly cost me 50-60$

    Still not bad tho

  8. a 1ghz cpu and 512mb of ram will have no problem Running Atario 2600, 5200,7800, NES, Super Nintendo, Turbo Grafx 16, Sega 32x, N64 might be the highest, Theortetically the hardware is still better then a Gamecube and Sega Saturn, Hell its more powerful then a PS2 but the GPu and overall performance might be questionable if ur trying to Run anything more powerful then the 16/32-bit area of games.

  9. Question about power supply. Will this run off of usb power? Like if I plugged this into a usb port, would it be fine for powering it? thanks
