At a superficial level, the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is a very simple product. Take one of the best Android phones of the moment and slap in a 5G modem for even faster connectivity.

But there’s actually a lot of nuance to this device and the network on which it runs. Like any first-generation in tech, there are trade-offs that aren’t always obvious at first glance. So do you need a 5G phone in 2019? And if you do, is this the one to get?

  1. not as good as China Huawei I hope you would of used the P 40 but the one + are great phones. Happy for London I'm excited👊🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

  2. Very well explained the video friend.

    I want to know if you have the 4G bands: B2, B4, B7, B8, B28 please ???

Currently I have seen it for sale and I would like to buy it, but first I need to know if it is compatible with the 4G bands mentioned since these are the ones used in my country.

    Greetings from Peru

  3. The lack of android 10 and delayed updates are a deal breaker alone. As a EE customer with the 7 pro 5g I have been waiting for android 10 but still no luck. If I could get a 4G version only on EE, I would.

  4. What they don't tell you is theres no fucking support for it after buying… My device is absolutely shit and 💯 the worst customer service received on any product…ever

  5. as a oneplus 7 Pro 5G owner on EE, I would recommend against buying this phone. 5G users are the last to get version updates from OnePlus, have been excluded from the Android 10 beta and will likely get Android 10 long after all other OnePlus models. All this for a premium price and significantly worse battery life. Avoid and get the 4G model instead.

  6. I'm just wondering if i can use EE 5G mobiles with Three UK? Are they using the same frequency? They got slightly different bands for LTE network. Does anyone know? Three got wider coverage at the moment and just one phone available right now.

  7. Just go 5g with Three or Vodafone since they offer unlimited 5g plans. EE isn’t unlimited so its eating so much data not worth it.

  8. Ok so with regards to the cost of using 5g from what I understand Vodafone from the 10th of July will be offering unlimited data for £30/month. Now I don’t know if that includes 5g data.
Anyway, if you have a 5G phone data speeds will be greater if your in the right city at the right place. Otherwise if you have a 4g phone then that’s more than adequate at providing solid download speeds over 4g. So should we get a 5G phone. I’d say say if you travel between cities or your city has 5g and you need 5g speeds then yes. otherwise just be content with the better download speeds on a 4G phone. But that’s just my opinion!

  9. seems you're only focused on 5g speeds as the only reason to get 5g. You mention data caps. So you plan on watching movies 10x as fast or listen to music 10x faster? Doesn't make sense with this data cap argument. You want to download the movie quicker so you can watch it on the plane….you're not gonna download 10x as many movies because you can't watch that many anyway. Same with music. Or whatever. Data caps are only a practical issue when you do a lot of file transfers…torrenting, etc…

  10. Actually, 5G is often being used for Upload, just it’s 40MHz TDD so you wouldn’t expect particularly high numbers. Samsung S10 5G’s field test mode shows this…
