While the Chromecast is certainly one of the most talked about devices in the world of wireless streaming, we wanted to look at a possible alternative to the affordable HDMI dongle. We found one that can, quite literally, do it all. Josh checks out the Nyrius Aries Pro.

  1. Never mind since you didn't reply. The nyrius aries pro is not even close & should not be called pro at all. Returned this crappy thing. It CAN NOT do 4k.
Found and purchased the ATG Gold 4K Kim X3 which can do wireless 4K/1080p/720p.

The awesome ATG Gold 4K Kim X3 has a range of 100 meters, which works great using our Phantom and Red 4K cameras.

  2. Comparing apples and oranges. The Nyrius Aries Pro's greatness is for affordable HDMI wireless streaming to an external monitor on location used in DSLR filmmaking.

  3. wow 250? ill keep my laptop and plug the hdmi to the tv  and use my mini wireless KB/mouse track pad i got from amazon for $16.

  4. I hate this fucking guy. Why wouldn't he have said the approximate maximum distance the laptop or phone can be from the tv. He just said that "no matter where" which means nothing.

  5. My setup, I use a $25, Raspberry Pi. Way cheaper, no lag, uses less power than a light blub, plays 1080p HD video perfectly but you need install everything can configure it yourself. That's the fucked part about it.

  6. 250 bucks!! Jeeezus. No thanks I'll just stick to my 15 ft hdmi cable! If it was under 100 I'd be hard pressed not to buy it.

  9. whaaat?! $250 and a ton of wires. Seems very cumbersome. Granted, I know your trying to show more options, but that price isn't even in the same state let alone ballpark. Better off comparing something such as the netgear push2tv PTV3000 with a $60 price point – no additional attachments to mirror capable phone, pc, or tablet.

  10. Yeah i just went on ebay bought 4 10ft hdmi wires & 3 F/F Extended Connectors connected it from my pc to my hdtv got some wire holders nailed in to have the wires placed along the wall/ceiling curb out of the way paid less than $15 for all that and have a clear picture of full hd all i do is extend my screen on my pc and can do my work on the pc while streaming videos etc. After seeing the wireless option in this video needing power and adapters or receivers. I'd stick to my old school cable guy type of wiring. Saves money and hassle of having junk laying on my desk or having to place a receiver by a window for signal or to power up batteries all the time.

  11. 5:45 'you can literally get anything from your phone and send it on over [to your tv]' sorry Josh but this statement is false it is only Google approved apps, unless you have rooted your Chromecast, you can not watch anything from your phone on your chrome cast. Your photo gallery is a perfect example. That does not work. please don't tell the people chrome cast can do more than it can

  12. When I wanna watch something on my HDTV I use neither. Just plug in the laptop directly to the TV via HDMI and get a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to control from a distance. Theres no lag, video quality is better, and I don't need to pay $250. Chromecast doesn't really work for me either because virtually all of my media is pirated.

  13. if you have a dual-band wifi transceiver and miracast, that will solve all your problems that you had with that thing and it would be the best. p.s. what did this have to do with Android?

  14. Im sorry, but that video streaming looks proper shit. In addition to the device being expensive and bulky. Next!

  15. Wow.. thabks. Seems promising. I wod wanna play games on my tv rather than pc display. Thanks for this.. also consider other streamers. I am confused. Ipush or cadyce hd wifi streamer or airplay or aris or others. Soo many out there mannn
