A note for anybody with root that wants to use Miitomo: You'll need to install Xposed Framework, the RootCloak module, and if that doesn't quite do it, the MiitomoSecurityBypasser module (my, how specific). Pretty lame that the app won't work by default on rooted devices, but there are workarounds!
