iPad Mini: Dual core cpu + 512 mb ram + bit more fluently + MORE tablet apps
Nexus 7: quad core cpu + 1 Gb ram + not so fluently + almost no tablet apps
wel whats android central gonna choice? really dont choic a side before the review weak man weak!!!
It's no longer necessary, except when you long press on an ad while browsing the web.
android.com than you already know witch side he will choose
If ipad mini is "always" around you, then I can see why network service would be important.
I wifi-tether periodically when wifi is not available, so battery life on my N4 is of no concern to me and still manage to make it through the day without charging in between.
IMHO, the starting price of the ipad mini with obsolete ipad 2 specs is not worth $330, especially considering it only cost apple $180 to build. $250 would have been a more reasonable price tag.
Personally, I don't like the feel of the ipad mini's size. In comparison to the Nexus 7, it's not as comfortable to palm. For that matter, I would rather option for an ipad 2 with the exact same specs with a 10" screen.
The mini's saturation is great, but the clarity is atrocious. 163 PPI on a tablet is terrible. Nexus 7's 216 PPI screen is much easier on the eyes.
My N7 is primarily on wifi. But, when wifi is not available, I have my N4 for wifi-tether. No need to pay monthly extra.
The fact that the ipad mini is wider makes it bigger and better for me, it's closer to a tablet than a phone and optimised apps look amazing on it.
The internals of the ipad mini are far form obselete the screen's brightness and saturation are really amazing, alot are complaining that the n7 screen is dull, the a5's GPU is faster than the Tegra 3 and i would pick 4g lte capability over nfc anyday
I use the back camera of my ipad mini for facetime alot and there's a ton of fun ipad apps that take advantage of the back camera.
Battery life on my ipad mini is SUPERB i get 11hours of on screen usage
I always carry around my ipad mini so lte is important for me and wifi theter is a battery drainer
my slate ipad mini is fine i had since november no scratch or anything,in every drop test i saw either the glass or the back cover came off the nexus 7,the mini is the most well built tablet i owned
good news for ipad mini fans

Honestly, who takes pictures with a tablet? My Nexus 4 is with me 24-7 and readily available when I need it. I have never used my rear camera on my ipad 2.
I get amazing wifi on my Nexus 7.
LTE? I have a Nexus 4. I simply wirelessly wifi tether my Nexus 4 to my Nexus 7. Why pay more for a service that I am already paying for?
The aluminum back is very easily scratched. 95% of users ends up placing a cover anyways.
I've actually placed my N7 in my pockets on a number of occasion.
I agree with you. I think that mini's low specs is a fail.(not by today standards but what about in 2 years…) You pay apparently around 350 bugs for this device and you get lower processor-lower resolution-not quite comfortable. BUT. 8inch screen is WAY better that 7.It is extremely light and thin which balanced the wide structure. It has rear camera-better wifi-better lte chip WAY better battery-it feels high end and a lot elegant with metal back. besides..who puts a tablet in the pocket???
The problem is the ipad mini is "wider" than it should be, which doesn't feel as comfortable to hold in comparison to Nexus 7 (and other 7" tablets).
In addition, the ipad mini price tag is way too high for such obsolete hardware (obsolete screen from the first iphone in 2007; obsolete A5 processor from early 2011; No NFC). The ipad mini 2 with retina screen & possibly A6X processor should have been the 1st ipad mini.
i agree..not everywhere though….the bezel is not any longer necessary. iOs 6 ignores the finger who hold the device.it understand the one who's moving…you don't have to have a bezel- you can hold it from the screen without a problem.Soon android will fit that feature as the devices became more and more "screeny".nexus is more comfortable in hand because of soft plastic and curve back…but…mini's back is flat-thinner- way lighter with a lot bigger screen
If someone offered to give me an ipad mini, I would definitely take it!
I would then sell, buy a Nexus 7, and keep the change.
Or, I would sell it, and buy a Nexus 4.
The Nexus 7 fits perfectly comfortable in the palm of your hands, which is the natural way to hold a 7" tablet.
The ipad mini is oddly built at almost 8" which makes it less comfortable to "palm" the device, thus gripping it from one side of the bezel may be necessary.
3:32 in iOs6 you can touch the screen while you using the os..in Android you can't do that
Objectively, the N7 is better. It has better technical specs all around.
Apps might be a different story.
Fandroids everywhere
No…. Phil's here being pretty honest people just hate it when apple ends up on the shit end of the stick, I was actually looking at both of these, however after reading the last 4 comments I remember why I can't stand IOS users even if some features are nice
Honestly? For one, your basically bashing Apple in general. Plus, you treat both these systems like shit, it saddens me to see you just throw them around not even caring.
But your name is android central.
